Hi Boys,

For years, I used Super Anti-spyware, and it worked like a charm. Generally it would take 2:30 min to run, then it sped up to 45 min to get the job done. However, all of a sudden it would take 9+ hours, and then recently it would be still going after 12+ hours.

I virus scan the computer multiple times using Avast Antivirus and no viruses were discovered. I have no clue why all of the sudden Super Anti-spyware seems to have gone on the fritz.

With that said, what does everyone use program wise for Anti-spyware? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Did you by chance click on a complete scan and not a quick scan?

Over time your computer accumulates more and more files if you don't keep those temp folders clean. Registry gets bigger, and so on.

Not sure why it would take 12 damn hours though.

Do you keep it updated?

Try uninstalling it and reinstall.

I use both MalwareBytes and SUPERAntiSpyware, as one sometimes finds things the other didn't. I also use Spybot Search and Destroy, keeping it's resident protection going.

I thought my son was bad, I was like "HOLY SH!T" when the threat counter kept going up. My son was surprised too.

I never seen it find anything in the memory scan either.

I can't remember the last time I found anything on my computer.

I did use the complete scan instead of the quick scan. I will give Super Antispyware another shot with the quick scan & see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the heads up!

I wouldn't put it past some of those sites, actually putting malware on to the computers they scan.

nah they just put up fake info to make you believe your computer is full of malware.
