Yahoo Email, How To Disable These Mass Friend Requests?

When I log in all of these robots, fake people, etc want to be friends. Now this is yahoo email. How the hell could I cease this so I don't have to reject/decline 20 in each sitting?

you are likely signed in to yahoo messenger via your email... look in top left corner... click sign out of messenger... you will still get requests, but you wont ever see them unless you sign into messenger again

I appreciate your help. I see them in the top left, but I don't see where I could sign out.

Can anyone direct me how to exit this or sign out? I use Chrome and don't see where I could do it.
