    Which Blackberry?

Hey fellas, would just like some advise from those of you who own blackberry's. I need a new phone and can't stand the apple brand so refuse to buy an I-phone.

I am a civil engineer and use the phone for emailing quite a lot, checking drawings, usually in pdf format, and using the internet. I was looking at the Blackberry Bold 9900 and this seems to be the best one for my requirements, but just wanted to know of any experienced users on here whether or not this is one of the better blackberry's, or is there another I should be considering.

    Cheers

Blackberrys are on the way out. Emails are their ONLY upside.

That said, if it is a BB that you desire, the Bold is a nice phone. It's kinda old if I remember correctly, but it's nice.

Bold 9900 is probably what you want if you are looking for a Blackberry.

    Should do the job.

If not, look into the Motorola Atrix as it's a good business android phone. Motorola Pro if you want a blackberry keyboard with android.

    Blacky ur reasoning is whack...

OP get the slide so u have both keyboard or touch screen. Torch 9810 a excellent phone for this...Those with i-phone will be envious to the point where they have to tell u y their phone is 'better' BOOM, right on queue, nice work kmarin

Also if u do alot of international business then the Blackberry messenger is a godsend. Paying $1.50 for international text quickly adds up and the BB messenger cuts this, as well as being more secure than traditional networks.

Only drawback i have is at times the browser software can freeze occasionally but this is due to lack of bandwith from the network, not the phone as such. GL

phone or not, the network sucks donkey balls. OP don't forget about all the outages as of recent

I had several BB's and I won't buy another. The Bold's ain't somewhat cheap, I paid approx. 500 Euros for my Bold 9900 and honestly, it's a nice-looking device, but it doesn't feel like a 500 Euros-phone at all. The OS sucks and there is nothing innovative to it, especially if you're a "app-guy", BB's app store will be a huge disappointment for you.

Other than the e-mail feature, which you have to pay for, the BB's are not worth the money. I agree that their keyboards are superb, but believe me, that's probably one of the few positive aspects BB's offer. And I'm speaking about their expensive Bold models, their Curve series is even a bigger joke. Surely it's way more affordable but you literally get what you pay for: cheap plastic.

If you don't like the apple brand, then you've to go with Android phones.

Sony just presented their new Xperia series. I'm personally going to buy me the Xperia S (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/...ndroid-phones/) when it comes out. Currently the brands are presenting their new devices on the MWC 2012, you might wanna have a look at it.

I don't care for the Blackberry at all but they still had a "profit" of almost $300 million in a horrible 3Q.

They are not going anywhere in two years because they sell well in other countries still. Most likely someone will buy them out before that.

Maybe 10 years they could be gone but not two.

4.8" 1080p edge to edge screen
    1.5 ghz quad core

Really hard to believe the screen for now but we shall see.
Meanwhile Apple is still walking around with their little dicky 3.5" screen.

K13, I had a look at the motorolas, and you may have swayed me mate. Besides, motorola was one of my favourite phones back a few years ago with the Slver. I fukin loved that phone.

May be looking at the droid 4 or the droid razr mainly because of their processing speed and screen size. As I said, I look at plan all day so the bigger screen would be a huge advantage. Thanks for all your input fellas, its much appreciated. And I hope you all have a profitable day.

    Peace.
