Southwest has the best fares if you can book 3 weeks out. I use Expedia myself although they do not include Southwest's schedules.

i think he meant go LONGER out not closer

southwest usually gets a lot more expensive as you get closer to the travel date, from what i've noticed

check midway and milwaukee for southwest (they don't leave ohare), for everyone else check ohare/midway/milwaukee

you'd be surprised at how huge the $ differences are sometimes

    quick check on southwest

direct flight from milwaukee march 15th $163 from midway $119 with one stop or $139 direct
direct flight back march 20th to milwaukee $163 to midway $119

if you don't mind getting southwest credit back, you can always book something now and then if the price goes down (sometimes those $119 become $88 if you keep checking back) you get the difference in southwest credit.

and no bag fees or change fees on southwest, so that $238 round trip is ridiculously cheaper than you could find somewhere else where you have to pay at least $20 each way to check one bag.

Used them to fly to Costa Rica and gave me an alert when they dropped or went up. Worked out great. Sun Country was the best for me a about a year ago.

    GL and hope you cash!

I use Spirit for non-stop flights.

But Southwest has unreal and amazing deals flying to and from Vegas in the month of January. Check it out.

I always use expedia.ca but I am from Canada and our flight prices to Vegas always suck. They are as unpredictable as the weather up here and I since I am in Vegas every 2 months, I need to seach for deals daily and pounce when I find one.

We don't have the options of the big US discount carriers up here.

Yup! March Madness & St Patty's Day is one of the top 3 busiest times in Vegas for sure. I go every year and it's a blast!

Sundays flying back from places can be a motherfukker

Always try to book to come home Monday or Tuesday, if it can work with your schedule.

I'm out in San Diego every few weeks and haven't came home on a Sunday yet...flight prices are double/tripled for Sunday flights, unless you want to take the first flight back at 6am on Sunday.

if you are an airline employee or spouse then you get free standby so why would you pay anything?

I think you have to still pay the taxes and fees, and that can add up to around $50-$80

I'll second the motion on Southwest. Jet Blue also has a hub in Vegas, another discount airliner (like southwest, just go to their website). Both carriers have similar prices.

ngates where do you stay in san diego?
i just stayed at lowe's coronado which is great except they nickel and dime you for everything - $16/day for wifi, $30/day for parking, $15/hr for tennis, etc etc

although nobody says i have to pay $34/drink for johnnie walker blue they still shouldn't charge that much

Thats how the owner of the company gets away with paying us so much less than ups. We are under the railway labor act as an airline meaning its harder to unionize. He pays the government off to keep that status.
