Rust's character is baffling enough to begin with, but without his very human and very flawed partner - he would be impossible to gauge and the show would be pointless. I don't think it will end well for Marty.

That's a interesting thought.

My guess is when Rust went DEEP undercover he some how got involved or learned of this cult and done some very unlawful acts in the drug dealing end of this circle to remain trusted.........

The Yellow King is the leader of this said cult and is the "SHOT CALLER".......

Also - and this goes against my belief that Marty is just a struggling state trooper - that scene mower scene was interesting because Marty repeatedly honked the horn and would not even stick head out of the window and say 'hey buddy, gotta go!' - Rust was a little annoyed by the interruption, maybe a little like 'hey, what gives? I'm trying to do some police work over here.'

Best show I've seen in yeArs. I can't get enough of it and these last 2 episodes, well damn I was t for this weeks to end. I wanted just 5 min of the conversation with those 2. We are NOT gonna figure this one out. My woman has like 3 theories so hope it none of them. LOL. Then here comes another show for the ages next month GAME of THRONES!!!!!

Call it a coincidence, but as the story has built and they were all in the police Major's office talking in the last episode...camera has made a few blatant stops on his desk to show the name LeRoy Salter and he loudly pointed out don't start with the 'leeeRoy' crap when it's 'La-Roy' for Louisiana tradition or what not...well that's a French tie in and guess what Leroy just so happens to refer to in French boys....'the King'

Did Cohle take the law into his own hands after quitting the force?

Is Cohle going to tell Martin everything about the cult murders he investigated during the past ten years?

If Cohle did take the law in his own hands and he confides this to Martin then there is no possible way for Martin to do anything lawfully about it, without implicating himself to the conspiracy Cohle cooked up in 95 in order to save Martin's ass from homicide charges in the actual murder of Reggie Ledoux...

In other words, Cohle can blackmail Martin into doing as he wishes about this case from this point forward.....

In even simpler words,Rust has Martin by the balls, "IF" he chooses.........
