    4x faster Internet for $5 Cheaper

    I've been on ATT DSL for years @ 3.0mbps

    ATT are migrating customers from DSL to U-Verse. I'm getting a new modem/router free after rebate and faster speed, 12.0mbps, beginning Friday all for $5.00 cheaper monthly service.

    Have had nothing but trouble with U-Verse over the last 5 days. It will lose connection several times per day, like 6-10 times. Then it takes 1-3 minutes for it to re-connect. Fuk that!

    ATT tech is coming out tomorrow to check the wires inside & outside and may replace modem.

    For example, Verizon Fios is much better than DSL, but it's still not available in many areas.

    You sound like me lol...i just changed service myself after so long of having crappy as DSL. Upgraded to 18 mps for cheaper. Threw in the TV as well

    I had Yahoo DSL for $15.00 a month. It was very good service and great speeds for wagering. I now have Comcast for $29.99 out the door... 6 month promotion. Point is DSL is only worth $15.00 a month and Cable Speeds are only worth $29.99 anything higher... you're wasting your money.

    Main poblem I've had with ATT is the shit modems.

    Gotta lay them a certain way so they don't overheat. Last one would overheat and I'd have to reset multiple times a day. Now I just hang the fukkin thing in the air so it can breath. Haven't had a problem in the last year since doing it.

    If you have those little shit motorola modems get a new one from the tech guy, and hang the thing off the side of your desk.

    Anyone have experience with Verizon FIOS? I have Charter cable internet now and it is awful. Weekends and late afternoon it usually cuts out for hours, or will be so slow it is basically unusable. Looking to possibly swith to Verizon soon.

    I have had U-Verse for two years, it has been very solid and never had any problems with it. I have the 25mbps and always get around 22-24mbps when I test it. I had Charter Cable for 7 years before I got U-Verse and I would never go back to such a shitty internet provider.

    ive had a westell black modem for almost 7 years, only had to reset twice, pretty sure no heat comes out of it

    I agree. I used a top of the line netgear for my reg DSL. ATT told me their U-Verse service requires the one they sent me.

    For the hell of it I tried the netgear one with my new U-Verse service and it would not work

    I *think* my U-Verse internet issue is solved. ATT tech came out and put in a double socket wall plug/plate. Before both the phone & internet were traveling on same 2 wires. Now after he rewired it my internet has its own dedicated wires and he installed a better filter in the outside box instead of the cheap filter used inside.

    Tip: If you get U-Verse make the tech comeout and install it with those modifications instead of the do-it-yourself plug and play
