Can anyone on SBR bench press more than King Mayan?

My max right now is 220. Any heavier than that and I think I might end up like that USC running back.

I once challenged mayan to an arm wrestling competition. He was found days later in public restroom under urinal in fetal position.

Bench press is not a good measure of relative strength because bodyweight plays a big part.

The best ways to measure relative strength are pull-ups, dips, and push-ups.

Those are easy to do if you weigh nothing or have short arms.

king mayan is a monster. Guys signature says : "Shut the fukk up and squat"

King Mayan is the dude you see at the gym wearing a sleeveless shirt carrying an old milk gallon of red liquid in one hand and a gym bag in the other and beanie on his head... he's the guy you try not to make eye contact with.

    I don't really bench press but I dumbbell press 150lbs each for 10 reps.(non-assisted).

The real question is how much you squat, deadlift, barbell row, military press, for 8 reps minimum.

Well homeboy, If you don't squat, leg press, lunges, hack squat, ham curls, sit ham curls, stiff deads, etc, you're never going to get big.

    Big legs= high testosterone.

100th post on this and i doubt anyone can bench squat or deadlift anymore than me and i don't even do those exercises anymore

I do hit training, warmup sets and 1 set to failure with an occasional drop set with a slow rep speed

You can build more muscle, get in better shape with slow controlled movements that any other type of lifting despite what you might here from some genetic drug freeks which most people are copying

i can reverse grip bench press 315 for ten reps with no force or momentum 1 day a week.

On a side note: would u rather be able to bench 400 and hold your shoulder, elbows, be in pain and complain or be able to bench 200 in great form and have better health and development

    Id take the latter anyday

in my gym the really strong guys aren't very lean. Rarely will you see a guy with powerlifter strength be lean unless he is on steroids and to me that is weak. If someone is doing roids more power to you but don't try to front around natural lifters misleading people like you have the golden workout. Sorry just some of those guys in my gym.

I do legs... I do calfs, leg press, lunges, don't know what a hack press is..... but everytime i do legs I'm sore and tight for a week. But I don't do as much leg lifting as I should.... Maybe this is explains why I can't put on weight... is that where most your weight comes from ? leg muscles?

    ttwarrior..........how old are you?

I'm 43 with a 350 bench (I weigh around 195......give or take 5 pounds). Just an old guy trying to hold it together. But, you're right in that my shoulders burn if I sleep on my side too long at night.

I used to do a lot of bench press and I have had some real problems with my shoulders. I would try to hit golfballs and my left shoulder would subluxate. Started doing a lot of pulling exercises though, like seated rows, pul ups, and hanging body weight rows and it has gotten much better.

Shut up with your HIT training if you went in a HIIT session instead you would be gassed. HIT training is nothing special .

Centaur......that's a respectable bench press, but...........there is no "around 315".........either you've hit the magical three plate bench press or you haven't. For "normal" guys that train (not power lifters, not college athletes, etc.) lifting 315 for the first time is a big day in their training life.

lol I know. It has been a few years since I have used free weights for chest so I honestly don't remember. I do remember doing sets of 6-8 of 275 though, so it isn't far off.
