best way to lose belly fat?

I've been going to the gym 3-4 days a week for abt a month and a half. I'm trying to lose my 'beer belly' that I've accumulated over the years. I've seen very little result to my mid section. I have kept a some what good diet. I haven't done any cardio at all during my time at the gym. Is that wat I'm missing? Cardio?

    -Squats
    -Running up hills
    -Running up stairs
    -(any other lower body workout)
-Work out your legs and it will move on towards your belly fat.
-Most important thing is diet though, cut down on the carbs and red meat.

You can do cardio but it's not as effective as what I just said.

There is no way to spot reduce fat. Working on your legs will add muscle which will reduce fat as a whole but it will not target a specific area.

Add cardio to your routine. The fat will still be there regardless until you lose it but if you want a 6 pack after you lose that fat start working on abdominal exercises now

Simple, you just answered your own answer. Cardio, which is the hardest part in doing exercise, but it's also great for the heart.

I read about this in mens health magazine

"The new study – presented by Michael Zemel, Ph.D., professor of nutrition at the University of Tennessee found that people who included yogurt as part of their weight loss program lost significantly more weight compared to those who simply reduced calories. The yogurt eaters lost 22 percent more weight, 61 percent more body fat and 81 percent more stomach fat during the 12-week study."

3500 calories equals + or - 1lb. If you burn 3500 more calories that you eat you will lose 1 pound of fat. Make it your goal to be in a defecit of -1000 calories a day. So by the end of the week you will have burned 7,ooo more calories than you consumed which would translate to -2 lbs of fat. The fat from your belly will eventually burn off

The more lean mass you put on the faster your body burns fat in general which is why its important to work with weights too.

So, what exactly is it that you are trying to do?? Are you trying to build muscle on top of your beer gut?

The only way to get rid of a beer gut is to really reduce your alcohol intake and doing enough cardio. Daily alcohol seems to be the biggest killer for me though. When I had my a knee reconstructions a few years back, i couldn't drink for a month - lost about 5 kilos, even though i wasn't even able to do any excercise.

There is nothing like a hard run on soft sand uphill at the beach for the perfect cardio work out.

No routine of exercises is going to give you 'six pack abs.' They are all lies. Cardio is the only way.

Absolutely need cardio. DOesn't have to be boring long runs on a treadmill but do 40 yard sprints or run/walks etc.

Biceps curls and bench pressing really doesn't do much for your gut

yup no way to target fat. everyone stores fat in different areas. Keep yourself in a caloric deficit and keep losing weight at 1-2 pounds a week and your stomach size will eventually start decreasing.

There is a new drug out called victoza, it is a hormone that you inject that is also used for diabetes but has shown significant results for weight loss. Ppl are losing up to 9 pounds a week, the first week.

I just started it yesterday cause the anti anxiety med im on has caused me to gain almost 40 pounds in 4 months.

Need to go from 217 back down to around 180.

But seriously inquire about it, ppl are raving about it.

Get that machine that has a belt that you put around your waist and shakes the belly fat away.

Can't target belly fat. All you can do is reduce all around body fat until your belly goes away.

You can do whatever exercises you like, as long as you are shedding off the pounds, you'll be fine. Just keep at it.

Myself, I've lost 30 pounds so far and have 15 more to go until I can see my abs... hopefully.
