Senior year in high school. It was late start. Remembering waking up and seeing my dad, who never gets visibly rattled, staring at the tv saying"something happened son"

i was getting off the bus when one of my friends who was the last one on before we got dropped off was telling me about a plane hitting the tower. I too like many of you thought that it was just some idiot who accidently crashed into the tower. My class and i watched the news the rest of the day.

In 7th grade science class, slightly overweight principle runs into our class room and almost passes out from exhaustion. Says a two planes just hit the towers, he'll be back with safety instructions if necessary.

That afternoon Im in math class. Our math teacher tell us to take out our book and turn to page 186. Theres a giant picture of the towers on the page. He goes "Class, those arent there anymore." This is followed by a brief moment where everyone is silent and then he goes into his normal lecture.

Junior at the University of Alabama, I was asleep in the girl next doors bed after a long nite of partying, she woke me up to these exact words "we just got bombed by the Palestinians". It took me about 5 minutes of watching coverage to realize what was happening. To make it worse my marketing 300 professor had told us that no tests would be rescheduled unless Heaven and Earth moved.....I didnt bother studying thinking Heaven and Earth had moved and of course test was still on and I failed miserably. Ill never forget that day the rest of my life

I too was in grade 10 history class...teacher was 10 min late, we were all just sitting around taking when the door burst open and it was our teacher rolling a TV into the classroom and says "ladies and gentleman a catastrophe is happening right now". It was also picture day at school. Can literally open my year book and see what every student in my school looked like on Sept. 11. Also I had waked and baked that morning

I was leaving a fat girls house after a one nighter. Turned the car radio on and they were talking about it. Didn't get the seriousness of the situation till I got back to the apartment and my roomates were glued to the tv and started filling me in.

Everyone was in history class because public schools like to wake kids up with history LOL. Didnt know whether school was in session or not, people leaving home, people just sitting in class, teachers not teaching...etc.

    I'll never forget this...

I was on my way out the door to head out to the new Krispy Kreme that had just opened here in Pittsburgh to close a deal.

My Mom called me and told me to turn on the news.

I told her that I couldn't, I had to get going and that I'd call her after my meeting.

She sounded different and rather shaken. She told me that she loved me and to be safe. I told her that I loved her, too.

On my way to Krispy Kreme I heard about the events on the radio. I drove to my parents' house right after my meeting.

Flight 93 went down about 80 miles from here that morning.

All I really remember is that there were no clouds in the sky that day, and no planes either. It was just eerie and surreal.

My fiance' and I went to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville a couple of years ago. No one leaves with dry eyes...

I was in New York on the evening of the 10th. My plane was delayed leaving the tarmac due to intense lightning/storm. When I arrived in Russia the following day, people were crying and running up to the people getting off the plane. My Russian is terrible (like my spanish and french) so I was looking for my "handler" to tell me what was goin on. My first reaction to the news was "no way!! it couldn't happen. somebody was/is confused!" A couple hours later I finally got to the compound of an oligarch friend and he had on the CNN international feed and I could see it for myself. A sick feeling I can't descirbe came over me. Then anger. I was touched by the outpouring of sympathy from all the Russians for the next 3 weeks. You see, they understand this better than most, since they have been dealing with these scum islamic terrorists for the last 20 years. Remember all those school children murdered at Beslan? Same folks at work there. You can't negotiate with these people. You have to kill them. 9/11 should remind us of this.
