This guy had his TD taken off the board because this dive into the endzone was deemed an excessive celebration. The penalty was to remove the TD and 15 yards. They had to settle for a field goal.

Last year in the NFL a player was running free and clear down the sideline and scored. The ref said he stepped out and blew whistle.
Replay showed he did not step out, but because of the whistle, they marked the ball and took away the TD.
The inadvertent whistle is a factor as well. We've seen it "blown" on fumbles, negating the fumble.
Often times there are three teams on the field.

Everyone is on the field to do a job. It's that simple, the job must get done. What ever the final stats and results, it was a accomplished by all three teams on the field.
Mistakes often get corrected very quickly. And some mistakes were never mistakes at all. The customary apology the next day or "we'll move this crew off of night games" strategy has worked, the people don't mind. It reminds me of a friend of mine back in college, he managed a movie theater at UC Santa Barbara, I was at UCLA. Anyway, when people would come out of the movie complaining that there was someone making too much noise and demanding something be done or their money back, he would give them a free popcorn. They would waltz right back into the theater and watch the movie, noisy guy or not. Sure, some might have played a system, but it was system that pacified the public.
Coaches can call for an instant replay, sure, but not during the last couple of minutes of the half or game, when it counts. That can only be done from the officiating booth. And now the NFL has a "command center" where they watch Sunday Ticket (lol) and make calls from there.
I can remember a Night football game many years back, I think it was a Sunday. With less than two minutes to go in the half, one team lined up for the field goal. He missed. The next team ran three quick plays, including incomplete passes to the open out back on the side. The ball was punted and within two plays and seconds later they were facing the same 4th down, from the same yard line. He missed again and the game eventually went to half.
The next day the professional kicker was fired.

so can i assume that's another "isn't what they bring, but how they bring it" to keep in mind the next games.

I'm reading on other forums the 2 sides.
On one side the "lock of the year" and Floyd was never in danger of losing.
On the other side, McGreg put up a challenge and clearly won the first 3 rounds. And that the judges considered 2 of those 3 rounds for Floyd, that shouldn't be.
