how do you get out of a wedding you dont want to go to?
its a close friend from hs, kind of fallen out of touch with him though. honestly surprised to get an invite to the wedding. its local, but i just think it would be an awkward situation as ive went the gambling/solo route and his people are more "respectable" citizens. no guest on the invitation either, im single anyways, so no guarantee id have a date to take. i feel weird just declining with no real reason other then what i have just told you. should i just suck it up and go?
Why would you want to take a date on a wedding?
just send a gift with a note saying you cant make it.
Go and get drunk for free and try to pick-up some horny chicks. Also watch wedding crashers before you go.

The invite might have been an un-invitation, they send them out to some people knowing they won't attend so they can say, well at least I invited them. It's just a way to save face and not snub you and also a way to pad their wedding gifts. They know you won't go but will feel bad enough to feel obliged to send them a wedding gift.

i get out plenty dj, i dont know the last time that i stayed home on both a friday and saturday night. its more the fact that its kinda outta my element and i dont talk to anyone there. im not really friendly with his parents, and the bride i vaguely know, her family not at all.

Big mistake going out every Friday/Saturday... Try a Wednesday or Thursday where the girls aren't just going out to go out... the midweek partyers wanna go hard. I think Wed/Thurs are easily my best days to pick up. On Saturdays, I like to hit up the grocery store... it's hard as fukk to wheel when you and they aren't drunk but at least you aren't picking up some used and abused barstar.

would be just like this cheap ass in all honesty. i could see a lot of beasts/unsingle women there very easy. i have about a week to decide, RSVP is by august 5.
If its your friend, definitely go. Even if they're "respectable citizens" every man has their vices. Just go in, and mingle w/ some new people and old friends.

Just go, worst situation is you get bored tell the bride and groom congrats then see the girls are a bunch of hags then go home and watch a little porn. Best situation you get buzzed with some old friends or meet some new people hanging around the bar who also didn't want to be there. Then find a cute lonely chick with huge fun bags who didn't have the heart to tell them she didn't want to go and drink with her followed by sex afterwards. There have been many weddings I did not want to attend but was always happy I did, and that include weddings where I had banged the bride. Believe me it's always worth it.
Sure you can. If questioned later tell them you were sick, grandma was sick, out of town, etc. If you don't hang out with them and only say hi in passing when you see them then why care. If they aren't enhancing your life then fock 'em.

just send a card in the mail, saying congrats, but you can't make it because you have a family event going on. I recently got married and some people could not make it and they sent a card in the mail, not a big deal at all.
