So Last Friday I Was In The ER

Here were my symptoms. Last Tuesday a weird "pressure" pain in the front of my stomach, left/right stomach, and lower back. Haven't taken a sh#$ in awhile so I thought I was plugged up? Also, no fever. Just a little bit of light headed/dizziness for 1 minute... and then went away. I always drink Powerade Option Zero. Buy them by the case probably for the last 3 years of my life. No issues.

Wednesday woke up... the stomach pain wasn't so severe. I walked around a little bit and the pain came back. (I was like god bless it... damn it.) I said f it... I'm preparing for my 3 hour workout like normal. The time came when I had to leave before the gym closed and I quickly reevaluated my body... and a bell went off in my head and said... you are ill... you aren't going to complete it. As I felt a sensitive feeling in my kidney region on both sides. (I'm like son of a bitch....) I said... ok I'll just rest.

Thursday morning... couldn't sleep at all through Wednesday night. Tossing turning... now the pressure is zeroing in on the lower right part of my abdomen but aching the entire midsection region. Starting to freak me out a little. Again, no fever. So I took an EX-LAX figuring I was backed up? Still no sh#$. Still debating if I should go to the ER? As every hour went by... the pain was worse. I was actually banging on the floor.

Thursday night into Friday morning... Aching like hell. Afraid to take pain pills just in case it was my appendix. Also, in case it had anything to do with the abdominal region. So I said F it... I'm going to the ER... taking a shower first. I'm in the shower... and I stretched a certain way... and it relaxed the pain momentairly... all I was doing was extending my right arm, bending my left side and reaching for the ceiling... and the pain went away. I'm like WTF??? But I couldn't hold it like that forever??? I said well maybe this will relax the pain so I can get some sleep? I lay down... and this monsterous beast pain comes back... LOL I'm like motherfu#$%#. I can't believe it.

At The ER. I told them the issue. Right when I said pressure on the right side. They go... well... we're going to need a urine sample, blood sample, run an IV, and CT Scan. I said no problem. The doctor was more worried about any pain while urinating than not taking a sh#$ for the last week. Which I didn't understand? I said no doctor... no pain while urinating.

The tests came back. No appendecitis. Mildly enlarged Gallbladder, Blood samples found in urine. The diagnosis was "Severe Dehydration." I said doctor... this can't be??!?!? I drink Powerade Option Zeros like crazy all the time. She goes... but it isn't water. You need pure water... Plus with the amount of proteins you're taking in every meal... your body can't cope with it currently. I suggest you let your body heal for 14-21 days... and then restart your training. I would not consume any extra amounts of protein than what a normal human being would eat on a daily basis. I said... what does a normal human being eat?? She goes not as much as you. I said that doesn't help me out any... She goes... just don't train right now... eat normally. And please drink plenty of water.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... I don't understand this diagnosis? I don't understand the mildly enlarged Gallbladder? Did high dosages of protein cause it? Dehydration didn't cause this??? But apparently something caused the dehydration??? I'm still trying to figure out why? I'm also trying to figure out the blood in the urine??? When I pissed a couple of times after the ER it was an orangish color.

You went to the wrong type of doctor. You need to see an internist NOT an emergency room doctor.

The ER doctor basically said your not going to die from it, so now its time to go for a checkup with your regular doctor and let him send you to a specialist to determine what is really wrong with you.

ER docs generally don't give a fck unless you're in serious trouble. Went there vomiting some blood months back, got a pill for acid reducer and directions out the door. I was fine though so it wasn't a big deal, they get annoyed when it's not a serious emergency in my experience at least.

They're right, not enough water and too much protein is a nice way to form gallstones so that's probably why yours is inflamed. Liver is overworked and not enough water trying to break down all that shit, makes your gallbladder up it's job and fcks your body up so you got the warning signs with the pains. Orange piss could be from vitamins, if you're pounding away nasty ass powerade zeroes the b vitamins could do it or other vitamins you're taking. Seems like you might push it too hard with the working out shit, take their advice. Relax and drink some real water, you'll be good. Should see your primary doc though for a follow-up, I'm only a hypochondriac internet doc.

ER docs are best at skills and stabilizing., not really generalized abd pain.

I appreciate all your advice guys. Thanks. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar situation? I don't recall ever being dehydrated or my liver/gallbladder being overworked? I'm going to try and head back to the gym tomorrow. Give it a shot. And yes... I have sh#$ finally LOL I've been doing that Whey Protein in a cup of water... you know? Just slamming it down like 4-5 times a day. I thought it was doing me some justice because I felt stronger??? Little did I know... my organs were it shutdown mode? Thanks gang
