    Baseball OBP Question

    Why do errors not count towards on base %? The way I see it is your still on base

    Because it is trying to determine how often you earned your way on. I really wouldn't see why anyone would believe that errors should be a part of OBP. That would just cheapen the stat.

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure it just adds walks and HBP to hits, than divides by plate appearances.
