Now she left him, he is broke, and the bird is dead. Hell yes I give him shit about that fukkin 1800 bird about once a week! LOL

prices are getting a lot closer to what I am thinking about throwing down on some savannah kittens. I always said Id never spend any serious money on a pet, my two dogs now were 50 and 75 a piece, but these serval mixes are awesome.

Wife wanted to start breeding these cats had them flown in from russia
$15-1800 each for Long haired Siberian hypoallergenic cats-
Not 100% hypo but with all the people with cat allergies only had a few
that had any reaction to them.
She sold about 40 of them for $800-$1800

do birds count?? 2 yrs ago, the GF begged me to have birds in this house. she told me it'd bring so much life to the house. well, i bought 4 zebra finches... 115$.. bought 2 singing canaries... 195$. bought a big luxurious cage to put all 6 in.... 320$.. and bought tons of bird food and toys, etc.....80$.. total investment.....710$.. biggest mistake ever.. they were dirty as hell and it was too hard for her to take care of.. cage was disgusting each day and had to be washed.. it was too hard to uptake. we had to get rid of it all. gave it away for free on craigslist, incl cage.. total time they lasted here... 1 month.. and 710$ out the window..

never again will i buy any birds. they are dirty and disgusting, and if you don't spend a ton of time maintaining them, don't waste your money like i did..

I do not get how people can spend so much on a cat or dog. Even if they are pure breed, the pet shops seldom have a top quality animal; those are only available with breeders. But in the end it is meaningless if the animal is pure breed or not.

There are lots of animals in shelters waiting for adoption. If you want a dog of any main breed, you can usually find one there. I have 3 cats, one born close to my house, the other two from a rescue association. Did not pay for them, just the fee to cover the vaccines and spaying.

Friend is a vet, she had 2(long haired) cats brought in we took em. 200 bucks for everything.

Like someone posted about Serval or Savannah cat would be my choice...I'd have no problem dropping a few grand on one (no way 15K on a F1) Girlfriend is allergic to any animals that shed, and not sure how those cat's would work out.

Can't recall how much exactly I spent on my black lab (RIP), think it was around $600 though. Other than him I only had dogs from shelters and a few stray cats.
