How do you go about turnin unattractive women down?
Especially "friends of friends" that you will have to see again from time to time
Are you just a complete dick about it and point out the obvious?

just suck it up and do them. don't be a dick because that will either make them want u more, or may cause them to start talking shit about u behind ur back.
Tell her you'd hate to waste her time because you're in love with another woman that you've been working up the courage to go after. It'll make you seem honest and a romantic.
It sucks when an ugly woman likes you, she seems to think you're on her level.
Tell her that you turned gay, works most of the time
Just be plain honest and tell her you aren't too into dating, that your just too busy, with work and life etc.

you tell them that you are sorry it didnt work out well with her ex (assuming she has had a bf that you knew) and you tell her that she would be perfect for one of your friends (make up some chump) and maybe ask her whats going on with one of her friends...this way she gets the idea that you arent interested and just want to be friends..
if that doesnt work and she gets upset...fukk her, i dont need any fatass friends anyways
