    before you hit 'checkout' at the bottom there is a promo code 'button' to push, hit that, then put in the code and it recalculates the total and it should say $0 and then you checkout and swipe your card. if you don't return it by 9 the next night it will charge you $1 per day for each day after

    btw..most of the redboxes in the grocery stores i go to have lotto tix next to them, so a lot of the time i take the dollar i 'saved' and buy a scratcher, i've hit a couple times, i know i'm not down and i'm getting free movies too..so yeah..it's a buck, but if the phrase goes 'a penny saved is a penny earned' then a buck saved is even better

    i'll be using redbox a lot more frequently considering i'll be giving up netflix come september 1st. they're taking approx 23 million customers who currently have the same package i use and giving us a 60% upcharge to continue getting the exact same service..i don't know how many of you guys use netflix on here (it is convenient to just go to the mailbox for dvds or instant stream w/PS3) but that really chapped my ass..imagine some other daily used products if they got upcharged 60% how ridiculous that would be ie milk, bread, eggs, cars, movie theatre tix, etc etc

    it's not the money, it's more the principal to me, they had a really good thing going and got greedy as all hell

    i just signed up for a 30 day free trial Netflix account for livestreaming for $7.99/mo. Is it going up 60% from that or is this the new price per month for the livestreaming?

    no the 60% was based off of old contracts that are due to change for current customers after september 1st billing cycle. any new customers who sign up now automatically get the new pricing. my current contract is $9.99 a month for unlimited streaming and 1 dvd out at a time w/no cap on the amount of rentals per month.

    what NETFLIX did is they got greedy though and decided to split the packages up so that if I want to continue receiving the same services it's now going to be $7.99 a month for the unlimited streaming (like you signed up for) + $7.99 for 1 DVD at a time w/unlimited rentals. so now $15.98 for a service that used to be $9.99 hence the 60% jump. when NETFLIX released the price jump there were apparently $23 million people that were currently on the same $9.99 contract..that's a big boost in profit if everyone stays signed on
