Lady Gaga accused of stealing from Japan earthquake victims

Lady Gaga will soon head to court after serious allegations that she stole from her own Japan earthquake charity.
According to The NME, a federal class action lawsuit has been filed against the pop star by a US law firm, accusing her of keeping money from the sales of her We Pray For Japan wristbands.
Gaga announced the sale of her $5 wristbands via her website just hours after the tsunami and earthquake hit Japan on March 11. Additional to the cost of the wristband, Gaga charged $3.99 for shipping and handling and $0.60 for taxes. The post claimed, "all proceeds go directly to Japan relief efforts".
Despite the declaration, the claim says the entertainer violated federal racketeering laws and a number of consumer protection laws.
Apparently Gaga inflated the costs, pocketed the extra money and refused to reveal how much of the profits would actually go to the victims in Japan. The suit also claims she made even more money from the donations because she counted the money she allegedly pocketed in her donation figures which then artificially inflated the numbers.
Gaga is yet to respond to the allegations but ironically she did headline the MTV Video Music Aid Japan at the Makuhari Messe Arena near Tokyo.

There's no such thing as enough money couse there will be alway things you can't afford even the richest in the world can't buy everything. Sure they can buy a basketball team but they can't buy all the plots in New York city for example it's hard to buy the Empire State building or the statue of Liberty and build a plaza or an amusement park on the plot.

Innocent until proven guilty. She has a lot of money and wouldn't need to steal. It could have been one of her managers that did it and she didn't realize what was happening.

To add to my earlier post, she was kind of ostracized during childhood, to my understanding. Speaking as someone from a somewhat similar background, she should be more likely to help people in low places than the average person, so my first inclination is to doubt the allegations. That's only a lean, as we can only really tell so much about a person through news-worthy actions and interviews, so I'll wait to judge and recommend others the same.

Always a good idea when giving to a charity to check how much of the money collected is actually spent on the charity. Unfortunately in many cases, salaries and overhead drain a majority of the money.
