    The Amazon union vote failed

    Big win for Bezos

    https://www.businessinsider.com/amaz...alabama-2021-3

Cori Jennings started working at Amazon's Bessemer, Alabama warehouse after leaving a job in the food industry. She was surprised at how much she enjoyed her work on what Amazon Fulfillment Center employees call "the sort side," scanning and sorting boxes on the warehouse floor.

"I love it, I really do," Jennings, who voted against the union, told Insider.

On the warehouse floor, according to 16 workers interviewed for this story, opinions are sharply divided, with anti-union sentiment running at least as hot as pro-union passions. Cori Jennings, a 39-year-old mother of five, goes out of her way to avoid union activists staking out the Amazon parking lot. “God forbid you make eye contact,” she says. “You can’t rid of them.” Jennings worries that the RWDSU will chase Amazon out of town and derail her plans of becoming a manager.
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/featu...-alabama-plant

Per a statement by Stuart Appelbaum, the president of the RWDSU, the union intends to file objections accusing Amazon of unfair labor practices to the NLRB.

Objections seeking to challenge the results of a failed union vote are common, Insider (Business Insider) has reported.

In March, Insider reported that the number of NLRB complaints against Amazon more than tripled in the past year, and the company lost two requests related to the union drive: first, an attempt to require in-person voting, and later, when asking for added security measures in the ballot storage room.

The final vote result on Friday marks a major win for the corporate giant

Communists, democrats and the left support amazon unionization.

Unions are one method they use to kill american jobs & business.

This is a big win for freedom and the USA.

    You're more comfortable with lies.

Its a huge disadvantage in anything involving critical thinking and reasoning.

Hmmm...the great workers voted 2-1 to reject socialism and embrace Baconism (work hard and get rich). But in your mind the workers are against the workers. LOL.

I had union votes in my day. Never a close vote. I never wasted time on that. The workers I hired, not the lazy Marxist type, knew who took care of them and who the leaches were.

So unions are socialism & Marxist? LOL How?

You understand that the massive union movement in the 30s & 40s made your middleclass life possible.

Also Amazon did have both feet on scale in this vote. Not to mention that 1000's of Amazon worker all over the country have been in contact with the same union.

This is not the end Roy, this is the beginning.

A lot was different in the 30's and 40's. Grandpappy Bacon was a proud union man and a hard worker and proud Dem.

Most unions these days are like you. They don't care about the longevity of the company and they don't want their members to work hard or even be loyal to the company.

I say let the hicks of the world go union and let the Bacon's go Baconisim. I paid and treated workers great and I expected great. There was no room for a union between us. I support unions. I loveeee more than like itself to compete against union controlled companies.

People like you have returned the American working class back to the 1930's. But I will agree that unions can take things to far (look at the police union) same as Baconism can take things to far the other way. But no union wants the company to go under, that means no union. Your talking out your ass.

But if your in here cheering on Amazon, your cheering worker be treated like robots & having to piss in bottles/shit in bags to meet the companies demands.

    Yet you support unions. disingenuous

While I was a shop steward and vice president of my local, I went to bat for people and even saved a few jobs. Made the employer follow the union rules which they negotiated. It's nice to have someone represent you when your job is on the line instead of going in alone getting shafted by your employer.

My ex president and I stood up for the union when they came to my new job, which also failed the vote. Should've kept my mouth shut, was let go shortly there after. Yes, a company can get in trouble for retaliating against you, but trying to prove it is another matter. If we were union, I would not have lost my job.

Luckily I was vested in my union enough that I'm pulling a little from it each month.

The way employers treat people like dirt and can throw them curbside at the drop of a hat is bullshit. We need unions bad, stupid fuks at amazon better wise the fuk up. The union reps weren't doing their jobs right.

Unions sank many, many, many, many a business. Why do you think they are almost always voted down???

I'm cheering the worker. The real worker who wants to work hard and get ahead. But if you are lazier than fvvk then yes, by all means join a union. It's a great choice for fuggers who call in sick all the time.

I believe brokers like you who sent jobs overseas destroyed the unions. I busted my ass for 20 years with that company and was let go at their digression. Almost fukked me out of severance until I went to bat for myself. From then on, I had no respect for any company. Stick your hard work, it doesn't get you anywhere these days. Go for the highest job, sock money away then tell them to stick it and move on.

Unions were supposed to help the American worker. So what happened..?..

The Unions were greedy and the workers priced themselves out of the market.. 60’s, 70’s brought an influx of foreign made cars. Simply because the American Unions produced junk. In walks Japan, then Korea with superior products.. While the Union worker is on strike for more money, the union leaders are making millions.. So the union worker does get back to work with an attitude and desire Not to produce..

guys running the unions making all the money. The worker would get the same benefits without paying union dues.. Lefties will always be lefties. Good for them..

You know it goes both ways. My brother in law is in the sheet metal workers union. Now retired.

He was showing me his arms one day, one looks fine. The other where his shoulder has been out of socket for few years, the muscle just hangs off his arm from the ripped tendons.

Jobs have to be completed on time Roy, union or no union. Because your in one does make you lazy. It just means your treated better.

It was Alabama for christ sake. The land of our dumbest idiots around who almost put a child molester in office. Last in everything that matters in life. Should anyone be surprised this even happen. The only thing Alabama imbeciles are good for and they are the best at it, is to vote against their very own best interest over and over again.

Knicks there are bad in everything. Bad CEO, bad cops, bad doctors, Bad sports stars and of course there will be a bad union someplace. One bad union for sure are cops. The fact of the matter is that republicans hate when people have representation. This kills them that a worker for very little money has someone to fight for them and the worker just has to go to work. when unions were at an all time high we were never talking about deficit and debt. This has only happen when the rich bullshitted complete morons into thinking unions were bad for the country. Now since the rich has bleed the country dry we have massive deficits and debt. I always wondered how the fuk could these simpletons be so brainwashed to think unions were bad. Carried it for awhile. Then i saw Trump come around and that answered everything. False.

Laws protect all workers. You don't need a union. You only need a union to extort higher than market compensation. Period.

And higher than market wages means their company will always be at a competitive disadvantage against a company of Bacons. Sooner or later they will fail.

Employees are not idiots. They don't want to lose their careers for a short term wage increase.

Unions work for dumb monopolies like for a dante-type teachers union. The poor community has no choice but to pay above market for sub performance.

Employees are not idiots. They don't want to lose their careers for a short term wage increase.

Unions work for dumb monopolies like for a dante-type teachers union. The poor community has no choice but to pay above market for sub performance.
Yea that's why Amazon workers pee in bottles & shit in bags. Because our labor laws are so great.

Yea but will a group of Bacon's do the job right & up to code? I think not.

Yea but employer's are only interested in short term profits.

You love monopoly & your polices encourage it. Unions are anti-monopoly.

Like the poor can afford the products now? Raise the min wage, unions will help.
