From what I remember, they couldn't actually make it Illegal for U.S. citizens to to game online on a federal level. But what they could do is make it Illegal for online gambling sites to "perform transactions with American financial institutions"

Therefore, Its State by State. Its legal here in California to play, a felony in the State of Washington but Illegal for banks in both states to do business with online gaming.

I'm a 10 year online poker veteran and all my payout checks have never mentioned anything to do with gaming and thus I've always been safe from scrutiny.

    You should be alright

Well, something to remember as well is Federal law requires ALL banks to report deposits over $9999 to the IRS or any deposit they deem suspicious. Keep it under $10,000 and never mention to the teller its gambling winnings
