    LA Poker Classic

Anyone here playing the series this week? or played in any previous years?

Its probably the next best series after the WSOP.

I'll be there, playing every event until I go broke or become a millionaire, which ever comes first.

    wish me luck...

Good luck, El Sol. The series doesn't end until early March so I hope you're not literally planning on playing every event. Event 1 with the $1million guarantee should be an absolute zoo. I doubt there will be an overlay, but with a $335 buy-in there's probably lots of dead money to be had.

You are correct, im not playing every one of them. Im only going to play the hold'em events and leave the turbos for the gamblers and probably avoid horse and 8-game as well but I will be there everyday. I put aside a bankroll specifically for this series and I'm hell bent on using all of it.

It will be a zoo, i plan on arriving 2 hours early just to get parking. I was talking to one of the tournament directors today and he said last year 1400 registered on day one. The last person to finish registering and sit wasn't until three hours into the tourney! Anyway, It will die down as the series progresses, well so they say.

Are you going to be there?

I'd love to go, but I can't afford to leave Vegas (my home) right now. The holidays + quarterly tax payment + my worst month of poker in a year + a losing month of sportsbetting has forced me to tighten up my spending and drop down in stakes. I'll make it out to either the classic or Legends of Poker at the Bike sooner or later, though.

Doesn't seems like any of you care but I'll post it any way.

Day 1A: 845 players registered, 81 places paid, 18 advance to day 2 (four days from now)

    Finished 240th

    (-$335) for the series

    I'm going to re-enter on day 2B

    wish me luck

How many day 1s are there? It looks like there will be an overlay unless they either have 4 day 1s or the number of entrants picks up.

    Good luck

I made a mistake, I meant day 1B, there are four day 1's. About 800 again today so I'm guessing about 2400 entrants or so when its all said and done. Last year the final prize pool was $1,500,000.

Knocked out early today, flopped a set on the first hand of the tourney and lost 3/4 of my stack to a rivered flush. Couldn't recoup.

    (-$670) for the series

    Try again tomorrow

    Wish me Luck
