    Negreanu Wins 4th WSOP Bracelet

    Negreanu Wins 4th WSOP Bracelet

The final table of Event #20 ($2,000 Limit Hold 'em) at the 2008 World Series of Poker began with all eyes on one man: Daniel Negreanu. The 33-year-old Canadian is one of the most recognized and liked personalities in the game and Event #20 was his shot to win a fourth WSOP bracelet and join an elite group of four time bracelet winners that includes Bobby Baldwin, Amarillo Slim, Tom McEvoy, Huck Seed, David Chiu, Scotty Nguyen and the late Puggy Pearson. Negreanu also had to contend with the added pressure of having won this event in 2004.

Negreanu won $204,874 for his victory. As Nolan Dalla presented the bracelet, Negreanu slipped it over his hand. With a grin, he said, "I might have to take a few links out. I have pretty skinny wrists."

Negreanu is of course, a Team PokerStars Pro, and PokerStars is breaking their own record by sending over 2,000 players to the WSOP this year. Last year, they sent almost 1600 players. On June 15, PokerStars is holding the biggest World Series qualifier anywhere online, with a guaranteed 200 Main Event seats on offer in the ultimate satellite tournament. Remember, at least 200 $12,500 prize packages must be won!

The buy-in for the 200 seat giveaway is $350 + $20, and PokerStars will be running satellites from as little as $2.20 or 250 FPP credits. The event takes place 16:30 (ET), June 15. To register now, open the PokerStars lobby, click ‘Events’ and ‘WSOP’.

Incidently, 2008 also marks the five-year anniversary of Chris Moneymaker’s historic win at the Main Event.

Congrats to Daniel. Excellent hold em player and tournament player. He's also very fun to watch on TV.

But as anyone who watches High Stakes Poker will know, he makes some VERY questionable plays playing cash games.
