LOL so they don't even post the rules and expect you to know? This is insane. I was going to deposit at YouWager for NFL as I have been offered some decent bonuses. I have heard on this forum that they are solid. YOU PAY RAKE IN TOURNEYS just like cash games. He openly admits the rules aren't posted and it's just a decision of management. Oh well, I play at Full tilt etc anyway.

The majority of my posting here has nothing to do with where I work, however in this case the one-side story is making me go against my better judgment and reply.
Below is the complete story.
legendmatt34 was told on numerous occasions that if he wanted to continue playing in our tournaments he would need to do one of two things.

1. Play more in the cash games.
2. Give more sports action. (with his own money... not money won from tournaments)

After many times of requesting this from the player... and him ignoring the requests, management decided to cut him off from tournaments.

Now I know most of you will say... UNFAIR, BS BOOK, etc.
Try to view it from the books point of view.
We are a sportsbook first, and offer poker as an accommodation to our sports players. We have a VERY small poker room. It is not on a network, all players are from our brands. We keep the sharks out. This means all the advantages that being on a big network gives you we don't receive.

All tournament payouts come out of our pocket, by keeping the sharks out the games are lower stakes... which means less rake.
In essence, we are not the place to cater to the freebie crowd. Sorry it is a company decesion... if a guy is generating rake, or giving us good sports action we have no problem with him winning tournaments.
But if all the player wants to do is make one deposit and play a bunch of free-rolls and look for every promo possible... sorry we are not the poker room for you.
Try FTP or Stars as they have a business model that supports it.

Yea I am probably never going to deposit at this book because of the shadiness involved with the management here after reading this story (which has been verified now by this CS fellow who we assume works for Youwager).

Keeping this sharks out stuff is stupid, good luck with that weird policy. At what point does a player qualify as a shark, that policy is also not stated anywhere. This comes across as very frugal and it seems the best books that get a lot of deposits and the most action (something you seem to crave so much) have to give a little back to the players to generate a good buzz.

Don't have poker if you are going to be all weird about it or create some sort of requirements for all players who want to enter your freeroll tournaments. This fuzzy stuff about managment not feeling like enough rake was created scares people away.

wtf, every time i log into my youwager acct, there's a reminder for the weekly freerolls, maybe you did not play in a freeroll tourney, but that does NOT mean they do not have freeroll tourneys

ps: i don't even play in those b/c tbh it's waste of my time, as my time >> 500$ freeroll tourneys, but that does not mean i don't receive the reminder notes about them

I only had an account there because I got a $10 freeplay or something like that maybe $15 from SBR for like 6 points or something. I usually just say I play elsewhere or hang up. Finally though he calls one day and was like "WHEN ARE YOU DEPOSITING" and I reply "not today" and he just flips out over the top "HMM SO WHAT U JUST USE US FOR THAT FREEPLAY SBR GAVE YOU? HMM? IS THAT HOW YOU PLAY JUST GO FROM BOOK TO BOOK SCAMMING FREEPLAYS?"

Closed my account after that and have yet to recieve a call. ******* retards over there.

youwager seems to be suffering from a too small/too big syndrome that plagues most rec books, they seem to want players who bet 200-1k a game, anyone bigger they fear their sharpness, anyone smaller they think they're being nickled and dimed to death..though lately they seemed to have gotten better at handiling the action than prior

Some valid points here - although the stipulation "play more" is not a very quantifiable rule.
