    Daniel Negreanu finished summer in a BIG way

    Guy was 0/5 in the high roller events, down $325k. Overall for summer, was down 235k. Fired 2 bullets in the $100k buyin event, looking bad, about to be in the hole 535k for the summer...

    then double after double, couple hours later and he finds himself with 5.8M in chips (initial was 600k). After starting as the short stack in the final 6, guaranteed 450k, he ran it up, ultimately finishing 2nd for $1.7M.

    What likely was to end -$500k in the hole, finished +$1.2M at the WSOP with a few events left to go. He also appears top 5 in the POY for WSOP points...




    Why does this matter?
    He sold 10k packages for low, mid and high stake buyins at 1:1 no markup. Low buyin lost -35%, mid +70%, high stake now +300% per $1 invested. Incredible finish.

    Couldn't agree more. Our resident Coach simply refuses to give props out to anyone who wins. He just goes back to his tired "Nobody wins", "Vegas sucks", blah blah blah.

    Fire, there's some truth to this. BUT...I would say that IF Negreanu was offering 1.00 purchases, that's a pretty FAIR offer (compared to the field).

    This is a point of controversy in the Poker community. If you quickly look at the bloggers, many of them were offering up pieces of themselves. Mostly 1.05+...and at least one at 1.40 (a ridiculous 40% markup).

    Props to Negreanu but buying into other players is foolish because the variance is huge, as evidenced by the fact that, for all of his incredible skill, one hand almost single-handedly (pun intended) turned a famine into a feast.

    I have no issues with him. I actually watched his Vblog for the WSOP the last few years.

    Years ago I thought he had an Asian fetish based on the women he dated and his ex wife, not so much anymore.

    He did casually mention on his Vblog that there were a lot of women on the rail that would give him their number, and in the past, he’d hook up with them. He said it’s common during the WSOP.
