I'm gonna watch, but let's be honest. Late stages of poker tournament poker can be maddeningly boring.

SBR is trying to grow poker, yet we cannot bet on the biggest event of the year

however, we can bet on stupid shit like esports, badminton and other obscure sports

I wonder where the main guys that were popular when poker first got big and main stream several years ago are now? Still playing??? The one's that stood out that I remember were...

    -Doyle Brunson (7-2)
    - Phil Ivey
    -Phil Hellmuth
    - Daniel Negro
    - Antonio Esfandiari
    - Erik Seidel
    - Chris Ferguson
    - Barry Greenstein

Where all these fuks at? This was the good days watching this shit late night back in the day.

8000+ players, odds of one of the legends making final 9 are unlikely.

-Doyle Brunson (7-2) - Plays occasionally at Bellagio in the high limit games, not as much though as hes very old

    - Phil Ivey - He still is around, played some WSOP, has not been as prevalent in recent years (he offers a masterclass though along with Negreanu)

-Phil Hellmuth - Still crushing low/mid stake tournaments, germans and russians though, are dominating the higher stakes now

    - Daniel Negro - negreanu doing well, got married, up $1.2M for the summer, pretty much just living the good life, 10/12 months, WSOP daily and vlogging it on youtube during the other 2/12 months

    - Antonio Esfandiari - his wife is 11/10, hes doing fine, still playing events and cash games. Similar to Ivey, not as mainstream as he used to be. He made the top 100 for the 2019 main event this year

    - Erik Seidel - still antisocial and crushing tournaments

    - Chris Ferguson - hated for his scams but he won POY WSOP in recent years, hes in the top 20 this year

    - Barry Greenstein - he doesn't play WSOP as far as I know anymore, he has aged. I actually saw him at the Commerce when I visited LA in March. I have a pic I'll post sometime. Was playing low stakes PLO with his friend (non legend, they started talking).

Miss the days of Gabe Kaplan commenting the High Stakes poker where they had hundreds of Ks on table in cash and all the legends. Gabe truly was the best commentator. Nick Schulman is the new top commentator these days.

People will criticize Cai's 3-bet w/ T9(s). Think it has to do w/ the Effective Stacks.

Not quite enuf $$ behind Maahs to call. So, it's Raise or Fold. A Call just doesn't give him quite enuf Implied Odds behind.

I don't think Maahs is particularly good. And way too slow!

The one other interesting hand was his TT vs Ensan's 66. Ensan flops pair + SMALL flush draw. Pair + flush draw has to have value so often. Maahs' flop bet pot-committed him. Ensan going All-in there would have been reasonable.

Maahs isn't folding but Ensan might have just taken his equity. Versus Maahs' range...Ensan is so often getting the right odds and even ahead sometimes vs AK-type hands w/ one big Diamond. If you're up against BIGGER pair + BIGGER flush draw, it's unlucky.

Pretty bad exit by Marchington. That's a bad spot to shove w/ A7.

Norman said that he played in like 30 events...and only had one other cash! Geez, who's funding this guy? He final-tabled Main Event thankfully...otherwise, how much would he be down Net?

Nice play on the K7. I thought he might bet SMALLER on flop + then go ALL-IN on turn card where he improves.

Pretty sure he is looking at Cai playing loose with shortstack and thinking about the pay jump more than that hand.

I suppose. Hate the playing soft just because you want a pay jump. That’s a shove by most anyone. Gotta play to win, but his money, his game. Hope he gets knocked out next playing like a biotch.

The world may never know. It’s an auto shove spot. You really shouldn’t be worried about KK, or AA there with how the action went. Worst case, AK. Just a bitch move, from a bitch trying to hit a 400K pay jump. I’d lay the world on him not winning. He isn’t a winner.

Poker was dead years ago it is why same guys were around a lot, it was like a cult

Once it went mainstream there was no such thing any more as a big name

    anyone can play and win

Wouldn't it have been dead years ago when the same guys were always playing and always winning... isn't it the opposite now with huge fields and Rec players becoming millionaires?

Yeah, don't like him. I think some ADVISOR told him to do the chip-count. Part of it is to just never give any info away.
