Of course in the long-term it does so, but in the short-term, which this event being a qualifier after three months of play was, lot easier to feel stung by things like that which worked against you in the short-term. But that is poker sometimes, how many people have satellited into a huge event, above their usual stakes, and then had something go terribly against them. That's life!

My only real objection was that we didn't get a deeper stack structure given what an important tournament this was. They've often given us weekend tourneys with 3000 or even up to 10000 starting chips. And it seems for such an important event that this would have been the time to do that, at least put more skill into the tourney/more ability to overcome one bad hand etc.

As I said, is what it is though, but going forward hopefully something to think about for future events at least!

Welcome to the club matty You’ll enjoy life much more. You’re a great live player so assuming there are some spots to go in your area? Nothing will change here with regard to payouts & the proper way of switching tables because the sheep will continue to play. You guys grind for 3 months only to have the format a luck based shove fest

    See you in January

Good to hear that you have learned to see the light on what real beer is. Next time you are in the states we may have to have a side trip to Colorado or Southern Cal (San Diego). Both are beautiful places to see and known for their craft beer. I know Tatddy also says the SF area has great beer. Maybe we can go see him and let him show us around. If you are into wine, Napa Valley/Sonoma is right around the corner also.

    last week:

    the sbr 2018 world cup:

the 2017 daily trnies and promos:

    everything else poker wise:

I think I just associated the weird taste with being in America and good times.

It's $80 a slab at Dan Murphys up here. And after a couple the ambiance wore off and the taste shone through! lol

That sounds like an awesome idea!

A beer trip sounds good. As I'm a bit bummed out about the idea of live poker today. Spent about 8 hours getting near the cash in a WSOP ring tourney last night, then went out in such a dumb way about 20 places short that I'm not sure I want to play again for a while.

that sucks to hear you got knocked out like that. completely understand the need of the occasional break.

if you are ever serious about that beer adventure let me know. i'm sure i can make it happen with a little planning around work/the wife.

    Good luck bud,
Sin....we must get at least one trip in (maybe two) next year.

Once work starts up next year I should have a better understanding of my schedule. Let’s touch base then and try and plan something.

What about a Road Trip from Toronto down to AC via NYC.

Beer, wine, food and casinos along the way.

Opti...if you are making it over here...this sounds like a must do trip. Count me in.

So one Tor/A.C. road trip and one trip to Vegas then. Sounds like an exciting 2019.

This is what I had in mind

If it was to be next year, we'd need to start out from Toronto on Friday 2nd Aug. (or possibly a week earlier on Friday 26th July)

    Friday night at Sin's grotto

Sat night at del Lago in Waterloo NY

Sunday afternoon I want to go watch the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen (or Pocono if it is the week earlier)

    Sunday night at Mohegan Sun

    Monday night at Sugarhouse

    Tues into AC

Would like to see an NHL game and/or an NFL match before, during or after the road trip too. If Bills were playing TNF, or Eagles playing MNF at home that week, it would be like the gods demanding it happen.

I don't really know if I want to spend the money for another big trip in 2019 yet though. Might end up being 2020 before I get serious about it really.

Wow....doesn’t take Opti long to plan a trip. I like the itinerary, although I wouldn’t be able to support July 26th due to work commitments. I may be able to support the following week though.

I’m also good to waiting until 2020.

BTW...If NFL/NHL is on the schedule, then it would have to be later in the year.

Take plenty of pictures guys. This probably is the one biggest regret I have had about SBR, never being healthy enough to attend a bash or get together. So many people I'd of liked to spend time with. Opti, Donk, Sin, 4uk, Franklee, Yisman, ChuckytheGoat, Pachie if he promises to loosen up and the list goes miles long.

I would think this idea would be a fitting end to SBR Poker. Take the Regs on a extended trip with people meeting up where and for as long as we could. Hell I'd even forget about all the times you assholes robbed me by sucking out
