    Daniel Negreanu WSOP Grind Videos

Has anyone else been following this at all?

He's playing every day of the WSOP and been videoing it and doing a daily update.

It's been intersting. Start at day 1 if you have the time. Worth the journey.

I watched one a week or 2 ago when Phil Hellmuth berated some guy in the 10k limit holdem event.

Opti, I've been watching. Danny a nice guy, I don't think the videos are particularly good.

The Jeff Gross videos even worse.

Jeff Gross seems like a nice guy but I find his videos and twitch channel boring..can only watch a few minutes before I'm over it.

I find them entertaining just seeing how the day to day goes down for a real professional. I doubt I would find it as interesting second year around. And yeah DN is very likeable.

I've noticed that each time we see Jason Mercier he seems to have a 'penetrate off' look on his face when Daniel is filming. Wondering if they have some sort of beef.

I've seen a couple of dealers and players from the Rio tourney I played in too

I think Mercier is just a serious player. He plays almost every tournament, so he probably carries the stress w/ him.

I think I was wrong with that comment anyway. Had the series on autoplay just in the background and noticed a few times Jason was very friendly with him.

It's cool, Opti. I've seen some video where Mercier is casual + relaxed.

I do think he's business-like most of the time, tho. Pretty serious about winning ca$h.

Opti, I thought about my DNeg comments. I don't think I spoke too well there. What I was trying to say:

    * DNeg is a talented player + a nice guy.

Norman Chad said it pretty well one time. Daniel can beat u + shake your hand and still demonstrate a respect to his fellow player.

Compare that to Phil Hellmuth, who on occasion has berated his opponent (who BEAT him) and comes off as "the smartest guy in the room."

I watch a lot of poker video. Most of it is pretty un-remarkable.

Daniel is pretty honest about his play. And he does some good hand-reviews. Just nothing earth-shattering.

Opti, Danny's pretty fired up. He just made $$ in 50k Players Championship.

Maybe we move to Vegas and become DNeg understudies.

yeah he's going well. The vid of yesterday was an up and down ride for him.

He's got the 2nd biggest stack with just 7 left right now.

Don't know about living there but wouldn't mind improving enough by next WSOP to go for a bit longer and win a bit more.

ive watched that for a while

and I agree with him in the rake stance...

doug polk has pros following him. notice how polk min raised in his challenge? 1c/2c blinds..raised to 4c

yea that is bc he knew rake

no fukkin person playing that small gives 1 fukk what the rake is

I am for Daniel, but yea he would get his ass kicked by online pros

It's been cool to hear Danny talk about the games other than NL-HEm.

Have to appreciate that the guy takes his craft seriously.

Who cares Rudy. He is superior to most players, and it's good info really anyway.

    LOL, why begrudgingly?

And yes, he got me interested enough to watch some vids about how to play other games for the first time. 2-7 triple draw looks like a good game. Kind of think might be worth me trying some limit holdem too.

I've actually bought a book and am going to try to learn a bit more now I have realized how little I did understand.

I'm not sure why anyone would take it personally. He just said even $3000 buyin tourneys was a huge drop down in avg skill level than 10k plus.

But I'm still not sure why poker players act like slow rolling is a terrible thing either.

Opti...I say "begrudgingly" b/c these poker-videos are MOSTLY time-wasters. I've killed too many hours watching them.

I'm giving Danny props. His videos are a step above, just b/c he gets into decent strategy + Other games.

Compare it to Jeff Gross videos, where he'll re-count going out w/ 33 vs 99.

Opti, my 2-cents on Limit Poker:

    1) It's a good starting point to learn poker. I say that b/c u learn about Draws + Outs. It's a good math base to understand Poker.

    2) I actually prefer Limit in Cash-games (vs No-Limit cash games). You have to have thick-skin for No-Limit, knowing that your entire stack could be gone 5 minutes from now.

    3) I don't like Limit for Tournaments. Limit is a lot of bet/call. Hard to get your opponent to lay down decent hand, when calling odds are 10/1 or Higher.
