    Jay, u have any official counts on the Matchups?

    Will square up, whenever u tell me they're finalized. Looks like I'll be sending u some Betpts.

    Fedor did a live webcast with Doug recently and he was overseas.
    I looked and can't find him in the list anywhere.

    Yeah, Jay, I don't think Fedor was in. Meaning we each had one no-show. That leaves 3 h2h matchups.

    I know u were in good shape in at least 2 of 3.

    Played the 2pm Deepstack again today. Per usual, not too many hands of note. One big note:

    * Sat 2 tables over from WKassouff.

    Even 2 tables away...that MFer's voice filled the room. Same lines:
    * I only bet when I have it.
    * No shame in folding.
    * 8-hi like a boss.

    My chip-stack barely made any movement. Was more of a slow death.

    * Did pick up QQ mid-pos. 25/50 Blinds. Early raise to 150. I re-raise to 400. Folds around. Original raiser folds and shows AJ.

    Table was very Loose-passive. Many pots w/ multiple limps followed by one raise.

    I'm convinced the way to beat these players is to make a big hand and take them to value-town. There's a saying that u can't bluff a donkey.

    I'm amazed at some sizable PF raises (4x or 5x) that invariably get called. Seemingly by Any2.

    I do pick up AA in mid-pos. I know people are going to say I didn't play it fast enuf. Early limp for 100, I raise to 350. Called behind, call from blinds, and original raiser calls. 4 to Flop.

    Flop is 579 Rainbow. Not the best for me, but the type of pot that a lot of people will hang around. I won't give credit for opponent flopping a Set. But ez for caller to have pair + gutshot here.

    I bet 800 into 1400. Get 2 callers, including early limper.

    Turn is a 10, I feel like I'm still ahead. Only obvious hand that took lead on me is T9. I continue to bet. 1200 into 3800. The hand I feel like I'm up against is 88, which would be pair + open-ended. That's 10 outs. That's fair calling odds. Maybe I should have bet more, but of course, I could already be behind. Original raiser calls, other guy folds.

    I know I have to dodge some scare-cards on River. A/K/Q and low-bricks are best for me. River is not a good one, a 6. He bets into me for 3700. About 3/4 pot.

    This player didn't strike me as bluffy. And consider what I've been saying about Exploding Bet Ratio. His original limp was 100, now he's betting 3700. 37/1 ratio. Is there any chance he doesn't have 2pair+ on this dirty board?

    I don't think so. I ponder + fold. Could I have played it better? I know someone will tell me that I needed to play it faster.

    I mentioned the Loose-passive players at table. One huge pot materialized btw two active players.

    Limp,limp, one guy raises. Callers behind (as I mentioned above).

    Low-flop, 653. Early limper bet out, called by Raiser.

    Turn is a 9. Bet, call. River is a 2. Bet, call.

    What do these players have? EArly limper had 97(offsuit), he flopped Double-gutted w/ 2 overs and Turned top-pair.

    Raiser had A9(hearts). Turned TPTK and won pot.

    My cards were so forgettable. I barely made a pair. Blinded down, just looking for a spot to double-up.

    I'm at 14BB, I get AK in SmallBlind. Limp-o-rama again, 5 limpers. With all the limpers, I can't raise and hope to flop TopPair. I'm all-in, will live w/ the results.

    Early-limper calls, which has me worried. That's often a disguised monster. Does he have QQ or better?

    No. He called w/ A2(clubs)! Only one caller, I couldn't ask for more. I don't even have to catch, just have to dodge a Deuce. BTW, I have seen players massively overplay the SUITED ace in this spot. The flush is still a remote chance. Being dominated matters MUCH more.

    Flop is 332, I brick out and get knocked out.

    Did meet a couple names + shake hands 2day:

    * Lon McEachern.
    * Joe Black, who has won some big Atlantic City tournaments. Said that I saw him on TV and that I saw him make Str-Flush. He was cool, seemed like a good guy.

    ......not much you can do about the AK hand besides PF shove.

    That's a bullshit move. Some do it, tho, b/c they're scared to death of getting AA cracked. Then, u get no value on your hand.

    BTW, Lon also gave me the "Jamie Gold" comparison for 50th time.

    Bad run-out, feel like laydown was correct.

    Players I'm familiar with + who I respect:

    * Martin Finger. Has won an EPT. Saw him run a Turn bluff that the tour-pros just love:
    ...If u Flop open-ended, they see this as an All-in Bluff. They figure they have enuf outs and will cause enuf Folds.

    Greg Mueller. Cool guy and good player. Will run some bluffs if he thinks you're weak.

    Charlie Carrel. Would love to see him on Final Table, b/c he will entertain for sure. Can play any2. Might be a "more talented version of Tom Dwan."

    Jay, I've been reviewing the matchups. Push on the two no-shows. But I think you were 3-0 on the others:

    Polk (exited Day3, 1267) beats Rast (Day3, 1412)

    JChan (Day 2C, 157) beats Schemion (who exited very early)

    Hellmuth (Day 2C, 473) beats Colman (Day 2AB, 1350)

    Confirm for me. But I think I'm sending u 300 pts.

    I sent u the 300pts.

    Haven't followed Field bet. But I know that a lot of the surviving players looked anonymous to me:

    * I saw Kenny Hallaert make a pretty bad All-in call w/ AQ.

    Jay:

    * Guy lucked out.

    As for playing strategy, I can't say there was a mis-play. Shoving range can include A2.

    Calling range pretty much has to include A8 (heads-up).

    Heads-up play is so different. Pretty much, any Ax hand is getting it in vs another Ax hand. Only exception would be if Ott was a very weak Ax hand, like A3 or A2. If you feel like u might be dominated, ok to Fold it.

    The final hand was pretty standard. (albeit lucky for Blumstein)

    Saw a decent amount of the table, the 2 worst things I saw

    1. Salas taking forever on every single decision when he had a super low stack. So solid

    2. Ott's K9 shove. I believe it was like 2/3 of his stack at risk if Blumstein folded. Pollak playing very tight, q10 was near the bottom of his shoving range. Blumstein a huge stack could have easily made a looser call behind him, especially since Ott looked very unsure as he was putting the chips in.
