Does anyone play poker at 5Dimes?

They had a place called Shark Tank, which was affiliated with America's Cardroom. It had a decent amount a volume, and paid rakeback every Wednesday morning.

Welllll....as of yesterday, they are no longer doing business with them. They have their own poker brand now...Grand Poker. Apparently they will have much higher rakeback and offer better promos. Oh, okay, nice. I'll download it and check it out.

Only problem: it's a total ghost town.

    Great work, guys.

Their Sunday Freeroll is quite popular. I am not a strong player so depositing real money is out of the question but if I did win some freeroll funds I would be looking for a game. At first glance finding one would be challenging to say the least.

I came second a few month ago on that free roll, and also play at the tables many times, but, as the Giant say, it is a ghost town!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you try DSIor Bookmaer Giant? I know you may not get the same rake back but you will get to play in the same place.

One more thing, at Grand Poker there is a lot of collusion and questionable action.

I used to play occasionally at Bookmaker, but they don't offer any rakeback at all. That's why I started playing a little at fivedimes.

This new place might get a little more traffic now that they've eliminated The Shark Tank, but as of right now, it's pretty dead.

Anyone remember the great times when every decent sports book was trying to have their own poker room? Betfair with original software, Mansion, Jetset etc etc? Those were the days!

Giant, I've bee playing at Grand Poker for over a year, but not much lately, because, as you said, it's been dead. They have the best rewards program around.

You accumulate GPP's, Grand Poker Points, and enter what they call AdvanceToGo Reward Tourneys. $4, $10, $20, $50, & $100...for example, enter a $50 and the winner wins $50 and the rest $25 apiece.

It's never been really busy there, but there was a recent dropoff that I attribute to the reduction of Reward Tourneys by more than half and scheduling them in the wee hours of the morning. It was the best thing they had and they ruined it. Really ridiculous and a lot of people left because of it.

Thankfully, they restored all the Rewards Tourneys and times, so I guess they got the picture.

BTW, I've been burned there more times than I can count, so watchout. I'll be laying off poker for the time being.

I will say that the software seems to favor those who raise and reraise; oh and flush draws hit at less than 5%, at least for me. GL

    Thanks for the info!

Are the GPP's best used to enter those special tournaments? Can they also be transferred over to dollars?

    Both, if i m not mistaken 2000 ggp's is about $ 2 dollars.
Ans I also share Sprunginobilli opinion with some plays and program preferences, again, more data is needed for an educated opinion.

Join America's Cardroom or Black Chip if you want to keep playing poker on that network. They offer same promotions and rakeback as well as a 100% bonus and $50 free if you join Americas Cardroom.

Grand Poker network is dead for sure. But they probably didn't have enough players to make being a part of the Winning Poker network worthwhile. They don't make much money off their Grand Poker site because they basically give it all back in rakeback and if you are a half way decent player they will restrict you from their site in no time. They want it to be a place for their sports bettors to play casually and not get eaten up.

Are you certain about this? Banning a paying customer seems bad business?..

Giant you cling to the past much? Or just still refuse to leave the house? You have some decent places to play there in LA. Why bother with forcing online action in the US where you have no idea what's on the up and up.

I haven't played more than 10 minutes on Grand Network because I couldn't get any games going. One of my friends was restricted there and I'm restricted from the Heritage Poker room myself.

How is it bad business? Is it better for them to let their sports bettors face professional players or against other sports bettors who are just looking to kill time or play a few hands. It's not BANNING them from their site it's restricting their access to the poker client.

I'm not sure if the numbers change or not, but last night it was 710 GGP = $1. Roughly that.

I tried signing up there before, but had trouble for whatever reason. I think they were giving me trouble accepting bitcoin or something. It was a while ago. Are they very bitcoin friendly these days?

    Horrible place to play poker.

    Bovada
    Heritage
    5dimes

It's pretty much unplayable if you're a conservative player. Lot's of bots, lot's of all in's pre flop...

What I like about Bet365 – Bet365 is one of the most financially sound online poker rooms in the world. As betting shops go, there may not be a better choice. Bet365 pays cashout requests in a matter of hours during normal business hours. The games are loose and the player pool is large during most hours of the day.
What I do not like about Bet365 – The first deposit bonus and VIP program are not competitive compared to other iPoker skins or in relation to other online poker sites.
