Plenty of people play drunk online, especially on Friday or Saturday nights. A lot of players online are not trying to grind out profits, or if they are they are about as good at it as the average sports bettor. There are plenty of opportunities to make money playing online poker if you look in the right spots.

Most of the poker pros are hardcore gamblers outside of poker where they drop most of their winnings, for example golf course, sports betting, casino games, stupid prop bets where they just give money to other people - the players that do the best in poker are the ones that are keeping quiet and not gambling too much outside of poker. Gus is a top pro because of his ability to read players. Even good or great players can go thru bad runs. When you hit that bad run it makes you a different player sometimes. He will be on top again.
