    Online poker

Hello, I was wondering if there was any online poker players on here. And what I mean is not just recreational.

I’m a ok player, maybe even good when I’m on. But I’ve tried to play online and see if I could at least keep my head above water. I just played in a $100 tournament(won a ticket entry) and was eliminated early on a bad beat(Queens vs. 6’s). Seems like this happens way too often online.

    What am I doing wrong?

Am I on a fools errand?

Personally I just don't enjoy online poker like I do live so have a bit of a bad attitude about it to start with. I'm sure it's much better these days but for most of its history if the operator wasn't cheating you the players were colluding or using RTA software.

Hard to not start wondering when you get on a run of bad beats and that takes a bunch of the enjoyment out for me.

      My opinion, Ray:
      1) Bad Beats happen all the time. Don't sweat it. 80/20 suckouts are normal.
      2) Poker (like other forms of gambling) should be viewed on long-run results.
      3) IMHO, one big difference between low-level Poker and higher-level = Value/Bluff ratio.
...At lower-levels, it's a Value game. Value/Bluff ratio almost infinite.
...At higher-levels, more of a thinking man's game. One-pair has value. Opponents are playing a mix of Value and Bluff, so they're trying to get you off a hand.

Hang in there. Play for fun (mostly). Opti makes a great post, don't want to be playing vs:
      a) Colluding hands
      b) RTA
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?
