    Is REVERSE BANKROLLING unethical?

I'm not going to name names but certain players on here think they're studs and constantly try to bankroll you, meaning they will either sit at a table with over the max buy in and wait for players, or they constantly rebuy to keep from busting out, staying at least even with you and pushing you around until you get unlucky.

In order to combat this, is it unethical to min buy in and double or triple up, then move to another table and play them with another min buy in and win, then move to another table or move back to the original table 30 minutes later with a min buy in so they can't just add on and match ur stack then push u around?

Think of these bankrollers as Wal-Mart and reverse bankrollers as mom and pop stores. We can't possibly compete with their volume so we have to pick our spots and find our niches.

Tacky in my opinion. I always try to keep close to max buy

Plus it's points and you have plenty

It must be nice to sit at a table with a heavy roll and wait for people.

Personally... I believe there are some really good 1 on 1 poker players here... but they lack in tournament play.

Where as... there are some really good tournament players here... who are actually lousy 1 on 1.

I think it's an art to be good at both.

Isn't that the purpose of having a bankroll? The problem with that analogy is that Wal-Mart is putting the mom and pop stores out of business. Why don't we combat it by not playing at a stake that's over our head? What does it matter that he's sitting at 200bb or keeps rebuying? You buy in for the max you're still playing 100bb poker. If it gets too deep for your liking, bank it. If it's about roll over and can't buy in for the max, do whatever you want with it. Who cares about ethics in poker as long as it's in the rules?

Thank you. That's the way I see it too in this case.

I think it's tacky to be able to sit at a table alone with 3x the max buy in. Why would I try to put 5k points up against someone who has 100k and is looking to bankroll me? It's the same thing casinos do every day. They have the huge bank and you come in with 500 trying to turn it into 50k. I don't hear anyone saying doubling ur money at blackjack and then buying in to the craps table with just the original stake is "tacky" or "going south".

Rolf Slotboom adovacted this approach in PLO ring games.

It happens in a live setting as well. Local casino has 1/2 game. Many tables. Player sits down with min..50 . If he doubles up then he will leave table and put name on waiting list or try to go to another table. Managers dont watch it so when he goes to another table he only puts down the original 50.

Oh well to each his own I guess
