Canbet closes its poker site to U.S. clients

I am very sad and disappointed tonight. Canbet no longer allows U.S. customer to play poker. In the talkes had on the online chat, the rep did not seem too convincing that the sports site would be up much longer.

What are my options for playing poker online nowadays? I am really pissed and confused. I thought the new law did not do anything to the act of playing online. Rather it made it more difficult to transfer money to and from. Why are these sites folding?

I heard about this announcement by Canbet myself bud. However, there are still plenty of sites out there that still do accept U.S. players.

Ever since that B.S. law was pushed thru in a very sneaky fashion on a Friday night when almost everyone went home on the weekend.

Your options are still available out there. You might want to checkout www.pokerroomreview.com ,and see which site fits your needs.

In regards to your money transfers right now. You can still use E-checks, and Neteller at this time, and should be safe for roughly 8 months using these funding options. Both poker and gamming sites are looking for other payment options at this time, so please be patient for the time being.

Think they were forced to do this as it was a network decision by pokerroom.com. Whether they can shop for a new network or not dunno. I know fullcontact has decided to jump ship and goto a new network.

I think the big winner in all of this will be the big independent sportsbooks who know can use the opening in the market to expand or reestablish their rooms. WSEX having the best shot.

WSEX could have great success if they put a little more effort into their poker room starting with their multi-table tournies, though I rarely play those, having them will attract a lot of WSOP wannabes and hopefully after they bust, they'll flood the cash games.

Sportsbook.com will try to rebuild a Paradise, will either buy someone or build one. That group can support its own network. Bodog poker is seeing an increase. I hear it takes some getting used to if you were a Party player.

I was playing at Paradise back in the day when 20/40 was the max and Angelina was running wild on those tables. I was playing sparingly there, but as soon as Sportsbook bought them out, I've never even considered playing there nor will I.

Bodog has no real action at the omaha8 or stud8 tables at all. Their multi tables are decent though, but haven't played there in quite some time.
