**this ever happen to you POKER or PAIGOW PLAYERS?

so of course i still haven't slept last night and i make a trip to the casino after the brewers game to get some late night steak and eggs and play some paigow.

i have 100 bet, 2244 on bottom, a/10 on top.
dealer plays her hand to aa on bottom, kj on top so i will be a winner.
as she goes to turn my hand over, guy that is just sitting down and not in the hand says "you have a flush" to the dealer!
she changes it to flush on bottom, a/j on top and i lose 100 instead of winning 95.

i go completely apeshit, i know the guy and start screaming "what the fukk tom! you cost me $195! that's bullshit, you wouldn't have said that if you were in the hand!"

thankfully i have a good relationship with the dealers/pit boss so they just keep their mouths shut and let me rant.

what a frustrating thing to happen, i wanted to kill him - this has happened a few times to me at live poker too where some jackass will have a brain fart and say "possible straight out there" causing someone to recheck their cards and show instead of muck

I had a similar, but worse incident at Atlantis Reno years ago. Dealer has both a straight and flush, but a better front with the straight (KQ vs QJ as I recall). Dealer says she must play the stronger back, which would have resulted in the table tying, fine by us. The problem I had was the pit boss came over after 5 of the 6 player hands were settled and said the hand was set wrong. Since the cards are mucked in order, it was simple to reset the player hands, and in doing so, resulted in 2 player hands losing. We all said that wasn't fair, but he wouldn't budge. That's the last time I risked or spent a dollar there.

matter of opinion whether that was worse or not, went from tie to loss which isn't as bad as going from win to loss.

i assume by "worse" you mean the pit boss being awful, i'll agree there, that is a terrible way to run a business. much better to give up the small amount and win in the long run.

i'll never forget at the hollywood casino in aurora, illinois a lady to my right playing blackjack made a clear sign to hit, then when she got an 8 she made a fuss and said she was staying (i think it was on 16 vs a 8).
so the pit boss came over, said ok you can stay and then since i was next with 13, he said "now you want to double down right?" and let me double down and get the 8.

that was a real classy move by the pit boss and i never forgot it, gave them a ton of business after that

the house has to play their paigow hand a certain way. if dealer fukks up in favor of player...everyone needs to keep their mouths shut. just a unwritten rule ive always followed.

That has happened to me before never understand why someone feels they need to correct the Dealer. If the Flush Would have made the dealer put a weaker hand up front and they guy got a push instead of a loss then he has the right to say something otherwise shut up and let the dealer do their job.
Stopped in the Potowatomi casino a couple weeks ago while doing a Midwest baseball tour In a RV nice place. brewers stadium is awesome, Wisconsin state fair is like one giant beer tent.

I'm a dealer and if u think that is bad, I have seen where the surveillance called to the shift manager to tell them that a hand another dealer did before me set up a hand wrong and they needed to go ask the player back for money that the dealer paid them 40 minutes ago. I would go absolutely bonkers if this happened to me because every bet I made after that hand would have been different amounts.

that would be total shit and no way would i give them money back from hands that were already over and mucked. i think state law in wisconsin prevents them from doing that, there are really favorable laws here in favor of the player, and just for customer service purposes that would be awful.

philswin, yeah i can ONLY see it if someone gains an advantage by correcting it, and even then it's not your place to play the dealer's hand because it would affect the other players. this mother fukker was just sitting down and didn't even have a hand!

MM, you're right, the reason I thought it was worse is because of how far the dealer had gone, but hearing a dealer say they tried to get money from a hand 40 minutes earlier takes the cake. BTW, I checked and found the house has the RIGHT to set a hand properly, but also found most houses would not have taken the action Atlantis did. I still will not go back there despite it happening 10 years ago.

ridiculously short sighted, right? by collecting one bet (let's just say $50, no need to say what the bet size was) they cost themselves potentially thousands of pieces of juice + food/beverage/rooms/telling your friends they suck/etc.

IMHO, it's more of the corporate mentality of squeezing out every cent rather than letting the player know they made an error, but would honor the bets. I saw the same type thing on the Strip, and they did the latter. Completely agree they lose big time in the long run, and the bet size you mentioned is probably close, no black chips on the table as I recall.

Was at that casino last fall. Really nice in there. About the poker hand, isn't it against the rules to change hands once they put them out in paigow, especially the dealers?

plus you did not lose 100? you pushed. you lost only $95.

Or if you play your hand wrong they take your money?? If so never, ever go back to that casino!
Dealer ended up with AJ top and flush on bottom, player had A10 and 2 pair. What casino calls that a push?

as a player once you put your cards face down you can't change them.

but the dealer can reset their hands until they start flipping over players hands, and in some cases like what has happened to other guys in this thread, even afterward. But 99% of the time once they touch a players hand is when the dealer hand is officially set, mistake or not

wow lucky there. Every time I've been in that situation where the next card woulda helped me bc of error by previous player/flashing of next card pit boss always says card has to be burned. A few of those times tho I was given option to pull money back

very true thawoj, that's why it stands out as such a great move.
they give me a $100 gift and have a happy customer that tells others about it, pretty cheap advertising.

that's actually the casino where I got my nickname 18 years ago, I used to play stud poker there and they would say "oh no its milwaukee mike" cuz I bet the max like a lunatic every time
