$1,000,000 One Drop WSOP Event June 30th 2012

Largest buy-in for a poker tournament EVER is taking place tomorrow at the Rio. It will cost you $1,000,000 to enter...or if you're lucky you could win the $25,300 satellite which is taking place as I type.

Satellite Winner $25,300 Mega Satellite - June 30 at Rio (name(s) TBD) TBD TBD
Satellite Winner MGM Resorts International VIP winner (name TBD) TBD TBD

The final nine players of the 48-player field will receive the following:

    1st: $18,346,673
    2nd: $10,112,001
    3rd: $4,352,000
    4th: $2,645,333
    5th: $1,834,666
    6th: $1,621,333
    7th: $1,408,000
    8th: $1,237,333
    9th: $1,109,333
    :
    Total $42,666,672 (Prize Pool)

The remainder of the prize pool, $5,533,328 will go to OneDrop.org, an official charity partner of the
World Series of Poker. Out of each $1 million entry fee, $111,111 has been ear-marked to go
towards OneDrop. For this event, the WSOP eliminated all typical house fees to operate the event.
In terms of records, the $18,346,673 is the largest-ever first place prize awarded in any sporting event
of any kind (outside of boxing). Additionally, the second-place prize of $10,112,001, will become the
third-largest prize ever awarded in poker, behind Jamie Gold’s haul in the 2006 WSOP Main Event
    ($12 million).

My guess for top 3 are Katchalov, Seidel and Duhamel.

Wait what. If you're saying what I think you're saying...

When you cash at the WSOP, you get a W-2G only for the difference between the prize and the buy-in. Poker tax law can be murky, but I'm fairly confident you only owe on the $100K profit if you cash for $1.1M.

    Should be amazing.

I believe ESPN if covering one table per day, and the final table.

Why isn't tt playing? He's the self proclaimed greatest poker player alive and his mama has checks for hundreds of thousands just lying around house.

Correct. They'll have a "feature" table. Probably table of death with Ivey, Seidel, etc.

Sunday and Monday at WSOP.com, there will be a stream of a feature table. Tuesday afternoon is final table coverage, first on ESPN2, then moving to ESPN at 8pm
Table draw is here on left side when you open link:

Pretty cool idea here - should be more big buy-in events instead of thousands playing powerball.

Holy shit, they better have that table on ESPN. That's both amazing and disgusting.

They might re-draw tables which could cause an uproar because look at Table 405 and 403 Waaaay too many amateurs at one table.

Most of these guys are backed.

Tom Marchese, a pro who recently won a $1.3 million top prize in a tournament, said he sold his buddies shares, but he didn't charge a markup. He posted $150,000 himself.
Mike Sexton, a famous poker veteran and television commentator, said a prominent Los Angeles businessman he met at a private, high-stakes game offered to stake the full, $1 million One Drop buy-in. The investor also agreed to take only half of any winning jackpot.

One person for sure who has 100% of himself in the tourney is Jens Kyllönen.

I'd guess Ivey, Negreanu and the other businessman have themselves for 100%.

The guy who made "1 Night in Paris" that porno with Paris Hilton is playing.

So is this dbag Brandon Steven.

Hansen wins the seat and Deeb gets on the bottom of the alternate list. So Deeb more than likely won't get in the tournament and will just collect the $1,000,000.
