    ESPN coverage of 2006 WSOP

Jamie Gold comes across like a complete huckster. No doubt he fits the personality type of the person I would least like to play poker with. "I never lie." "What are you doing, I told you I had a good hand." Not hard to see how lying would come second nature to this guy.

After watching the ESPN coverage I realized how lucky Jamie Gold was. He caught every break possible.. I think he will like Moneymaker a guy who wins the WSOP Main Event then does nothing..

You got to go back to Marconi for the absolute zero of a World Champion. At least Moneymaker comes across as a decent fellow with the TV commercials and everything.

From the moment he won I didn't like him. He just irritates me.

To win the event nowadays you have to catch every break. That's the only way to win since the feild is so large.

He had great luck with cards, but betting style and table talk also helped. The stars truely alligned in his favor.

I understand what you are saying. I guess to defeat over 8800+ you will need to get great hands all day and night to win..

I'll be interested in seeing his play at the final table.

Up to this point in the tourny, he's been extremely luck and alot of his table talk has confused his opponents.

Cunningham had gathered alot of momentum at the final table and had Gold shaking, but Richard Lee's poor play with jacks doubled Gold up at the final table and crushed all momentum Cunningham had gained.

Gold is the most annoying champion maybe ever. He played decent, but got his table style was annoying. Maybe it helped him win since was painful to watch even from home.

More annoying than Marconi? Now that's saying something.

Or was it Varconi? I don't remember

Ok Varkonyi is up there for sure. And Gold is the better player I think. Toss up for me I guess. Am enjoying the lesser event coverage. I liked how they got the main event up early, more timely, but still have all the other coverage.

i heard they won't be allowing online enteries in 2007

so sites will have to pay the players 10k upfront and they will need to sign up themselves

    Thanks!
