The Thing I Hate About SBR Poker

People with multiple identities playing in the same game. There are 2 "players" in the SBR Poker room right now that have been sitting out for hours waiting on a 3rd person to play. You can't tell me they aren't the same person. I don't remember seeing one hand where they would bet big against each other.

I'm not going to say the names, but they're in the poker room right now. I know 2 other handles that there is no doubt in my mind that they are one in the same. That's why I'll normally try to watch the games for a little while before I jump in. I didn't today, and got burned, but we live and we learn.

There's a 3rd person that just joined the room now. I'm waiting to see if both of these players magically appear at the same time like they did with me.

Not sure who you're talking about, but you can PM me.

The poker software blocks two users from the same household from sitting at the same table and registering in the same tourney.

One of them suddenly left 4-5 minutes after my last post, after being there for over two hours.

Lou- Are PM's disabled if your sitting in a game?? I could see some posters colluding and PM'ing each other their hands maybe...Just curious as I am a non-pro and therefore cannot cheat, I mean play.

Actually you can play (with tournament winnings) in ring games.

PM's are routinely monitored by SBR Staff.

Moderators monitor PM's...so I doubt this would be an issue.

That may be the case but what's gonna stop someone from using a proxy server? It's actually pretty easy.

The second handle left 3 minutes later, while a game was going on with two new players. I guess he didn't like his odds of winning.

Lets face it, there are alot of posters who know each other and can easily be on the phine while playing...dont have to be the same person, but cheating like that would not be too hard I guess...but its kind of ridiculous doing this for points :-(

not sure why you wouldnt want to let all of us know.

if they are cheating, why try to hide it so you dont hurt their feelings?

id rather have a warning and it be false than no warning and it be true.

I was playing against you around the time of this thread. Are you talking about me?

I was idling on the 1/2 table for hours today hoping to get something more than a heads up game going, and so was a guy with mlb in his name. The few times I did get to play I sure didn't win. Don't think I did against you anyway. Even got cleaned out on the sanctuary table later on.

As far as I recall you jumped on the table with minimum buyin a couple of times and lost pretty quick? If that's what you're talking about you have a damn good reason for not mentioning names, being wrong and way out of line.

security is lacking you know people get over on poker all the time its a fact not a theory, look at some of the games played for once instead of just saying everything is fine, there are anomilies all the time unless the laws of percentages hold no water on SBR poker(we know they dont in the casino) then something is off.

I played with optional a little bit after this post was put up and he was on the up and up we played with a bunch of us for a while

Not to mention that everyone just plays a few hands and if they win they leave. With this "awesome" poker program you would think they could fix that, if you were sitting down @ a table with real people and you won 4 out 5 hands and got up some and tried to leave, you wouldnt be leaving with that money. you have to altleast play double that amount of hands to give the other person a chance for the cards to change.

It's good to know it's protected against proxy servers. But in these days with smartphones and their capability to basically act as a router, anyone with a Droid and two laptops could cheat relatively easily. Monitoring hand history would pretty much be the only way to protect against this...

??? Maybe in a house game, but I've seen people do hit and runs at B@M casinos many times.

Just to warn you guys that play poker for real, I know one of my friends (he lives in California) and he tried to get me in on one of his schemes where he talks to someone on AIM during a cash game and tags team people that way. He does it with a lot of other people and he says he uses it for 6 person sit n goes a lot too.

It happens. There is no way it can be stopped completely.

I meant house games, or at a party or something, I am not a pro or even serious poker player, all I am saying is that it sucks.

We're not getting into security other than to say there are adequate measures in place to identify fraud. Just as with the forum, people here to attempt to game the system will find themselves 86'ed.

On every online poker site you can leave anytime you want and it will never change.

There's no rule like you mention anywhere in the real world. It might be bad etiquette but not a rule.

Could it be that these to players didn't want to play heads up? I know a lot of times people wait for a third person before they want to start a ring game.

Exactly..Also, SBR mods banned my friend JoeB86 because he attempted to sign in from my computer one of the days he was over at my house in order to play poker, so real intelligent security measures behind SBR Poker.

Those darn mods. Nobody in the history of SBR ever had a "Friend log into their PC" before, so it was still a new experience which required discretion.

I've sat there for half an hour waiting for someone to enter. By the time someone enters the room, I am already preoccupied on three other tables on two other sites and listening to the radio or watching a movie, so no longer feel like playing. X out the screen time. Does not always mean someone is cheating. I also usually leave a room or sit out until it is no longer a heads up game. If I wanted heads up, I would go to a heads up room.
