SBR Poker Saturday Rebuy Tourney!

Event takes place at the SBR Poker room.

• When: Sat. Feb 25th at 5:00PM ET
• Buy-in: 50+5 pts
• Rebuys: 50pts gets you another 2,000 chips. If you lose an all-in hand, the rebuy window will pop up.

Prize-pool
1st. 1500 pts
2nd. 1200 pts
3rd. 800 pts
4th. 600 pts
5th. 500 pts
6th. 400 pts
7th. 300 pts
8th. 250 pts
9th. 200 pts
10-15th. 150 pts

*SBR will guarantee that the prize-pool equals 150% of initial buy-ins (fee not included). Adjusted prize-pool will be posted once event is full.

Fine-print
1. Unlimited rebuys (50 pts for 2k chips) until the 1st break at the 60 minute mark.
2. One add-on (50 pts for 2k chips ) offered at first break.
3. All contestants must pay a 50+5 entry fee.
4. All prizes are betpoints.

Unless people having enough points to rebuy makes it play different then a regular rebuy tournament if the guarantee gets met the total buyins with add-ons and rebuys will likely exceed 150% of the initial amount...

That's a far greater deal than any of the contests participated in on a daily basis. If you don't like it, go ahead and sit it out.

...but 150% of initial buyins only isnt good at all. that means if half of the people add on, the prize pool is equal to what it should be.

if there are 100 people and every person rebuys or adds on only once, the 150% prize pool just got cut to 75%

Lou. Not trying to be difficult and appreciative of the initiative. Just saying that in 8 years of playing cards I've never seen. Rebuy not added to the pool. 100 enter at 2 rebuys each that's a 15000 total not counting add on. In that scenario sbr is taking 7500 rake

I know you are adjusting the prize pool once the event has started, but are you also going to adjust the number of payouts? On your example you have 15 players getting paid - does that change based on entrants?

We aren't arguing that guarantees are not a good thing just that if 100 people show up the total buyins (with add-ons and rebuys) will likely be higher then 7500 points (unless a significant portion of players wrongly (or this case correctly? ) only take one shot) and the 150% guarantee will likely never come into play as in any regular rebuy tournament the buyins are going to easily exceed 150% of the initial buyins...

To clarify I've never seen a rebuy tournament setup like this and it creates a both a weird prisoner's dilemma and catch-22 type of situation (where if no-one rebuys everyone would benefit while rebuying obviously benefits individual players who look past the "public good" of not rebuying thus......) While the scenario is interesting and there might be an overlay (again depending on how many play and how they play) I'm not a big fan of been dependent (and likely penalized) on how well great thinkers like TWarrior rationalize the world so I will probably pass as well... Whereas if there was no guarantee and rebuys where included in more traditional way I would likely be playing...
