I'm in.. Lou is there any chance we could get daily sit n go's anytime in the near future? I know they've struggled to fill in the past but I think more traffic now and the limited times before were a huge factor in them not being as full. Daily sng could really get sbr poker kicking IMO

I'll add the qualifier up to my points balance (~2500 points), as I'm not going to borrow points to make the bet, but I doubt that will be an issue unless you know a points pawn shop that will take your towel...

$3 buyin = high roller on SBR

    Thanks for the tournament though!

I do love this idea and would like to see higher buy ins with 5k+ for first place. Maybe even only top 3 getting paid instead of almost 20% of the field.

I personally will ad my voice to the chorus of people who are confused why there should be a rollover for straight points you are wagering in poker. I could understand if you could use rollover points to pay for your buy-in but you are risking straight up points for the chance to win not straight up points. I understand there is some outlay of points beyond the buy-in with guaranteed points from SBR, but I think that's easily solved by a payout structure that allows for real points to be paid out as long as they exceed the buy-in amount(although maybe that won't be an issue because there needs to be 75+ people for the first three places to not subsume all of the points outlayed by the participants).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think every tournament with a guarantee has had an overlay...

My guess is SBR partially does it this way as a method to seed their cash games and think most, if given the choice, would take an overlay and a minor rollover over the option of no rollover and no overlay...

    Lou,

In a tournament where we have to pay an entry fee, there should NOT be the 15 minute rule. Personally I have never liked kicking anyone out of any tournament for not showing up in the first 15 minutes. But DEFINITELY NOT a tournament where you have to pay an entry fee.

I have no problem at all with the rollover of points. As a matter of fact, you are helping everyone by making places 1-3 with no rollover. We will get less than 40 players on a Saturday afternoon most likely, so the layover will be huge. Of course SBY has to make it a little harder to clear the points under such a situation. It isnt like SBR is trying to take the points back from anyone, someone still will in the poker room anyway.

But the 15 minute rule should be abolished in ANY entry fee tournament

I haven't played Sbr poker since it was first starting up. Would be interested in a 250 point buy-in tourney or something comparable to make it worth my time tho.

Certainly. Tourney is open to everyone that can afford the high-rolling, 40+4 buy-in.

I seem to only post when I disagree with SBR, so I'll say I agree with SBR....I like the rollover if there is an overlay and I like kicking people out after a certain amount of time (less than 30 minutes, more than 10)...so 15min sounds ok to me.

Nothing wrong with kicking people out, but you should never kick someone out of a tournament if they paid an entry fee.

In live poker tournaments, no one is ever kicked out. There are people who dont even show up for the whole first day of the WSOP main event and they still have 10,000 chips (about) at the beginning of day 2. Of course they started with 30,000 chips, but you cannot kick someone out of a tournament that they paid and entry fee to enter

All this smack talk on how nominal the entry fee is, and all of SIX SBR posters are currently enrolled. Maybe now you see why the tourney was aptly named.

No reason not to wait until the last minute to be sure that you're available before posting up the points. I might play, but probably won't know if I can until shortly before start.

I think if you made it 100 points you'd get at least 30 people.

This one will get at least 50, I'd bet.

40pt High Roller? Funnie$t $hit ever. Thi$ i$ $o weak but ill $till try to play. The rollover for people finishing below 3rd is dumb as well. Like others have said we are ri$king our own points(that have already been rolled over). I'll still play but ya thats kinda gay. I would understand if substantial points were added to the tourny then rollover is fine.

PlayersOnly is correct about NOT kicking anyone off the table when they've paid an entry fee. It's not even a question and should be uncontroversial unless one is ignorant.

This would be great - Always that lull before the Super Bowl with everyone needing action. Casinos are always packed the night before the Super Bowl.
