    Rollover encourages assholes

Has anyone mentioned that the way rollover works is stupid? Is SBR gonna make a change that prevents the kind of assholedom seen below? I blame the software options more than I blame this asshole - I mean I guess he can't help it since he feels like he must clear his rollover as quickly as possible at all costs. I played with this guy for maybe 20 minutes or more heads up. Got up on him right away and stayed that way the whole match but the SECOND he got up on me after an all in, he leaves the table and says the following:

    Dealer: Waiting for more players...
    deadphish: just cleared rollover
    HauntingTheHoly: and?
    HauntingTheHoly: you're running away now?
deadphish: have 10 seperate more to do

Can't really blame the dude, the way it is set up makes it -EV to continue playing on your money instead of house money. Takes a bit to get to the "new" money and then come back.

Well I guess if you consider player cash/ring poker being -EV, then I guess so.

The only things that are really screwed up for rollover (imho) is:

    1) that multiple poker tourney wins cannot be combined together,
    2) You cannot top up/buyin full with combos of bonus and real points.
    3) the rollover stops (and therefore the use of bonus points) when you exit the table.

Another problem is that you can't buyin with a lower stack than you had before you left the table. In example: You fulfilled your rollover and want to leave the table and buyin in again with another poker tournament win, then the new buyin must be higher than the stack you had before you left the table or you'll have to wait.

I would be glad to have the option to change poker points into sportbook freeplay. I'm still doing the rollover for poker points I won in November. Im not finding the time to do the rollover. Only in the night european time there are more than a few players. Placing a bet takes only a few seconds. Doing the rollover with poker takes hours.

Being able to take the poker rollover points into the sportsbook as a freeplay would be amazing. I imagine this may be difficult to do though, as they usually have to enter the freeplays into the sportsbook manually.

I would 100% be in favor of this being able to happen though!!

As to this...I don't think he's an asshole for leaving as soon as his rollover was completed. I would much rather take any of my points into the sportsbook, rather than the poker room...as soon as I rollover poker points, I'm always out of there and into the sportsbook or SBR Store.

I wish this could be solved. Not only do you have to wait the allotted time (which I'm not sure what is it) to buy back in with another rollover, but if you are playing at a short table, like Deadphish, then the table breaks up and people get upset. This happens more when the person is ahead, of course.

Buying in with another rollover at the table would save everyone the headaches, and keep the game flow going.

Would be nice if they were all bulked together and maybe just released in 50 point increments

I've only been in the SBR poker recently, but I notice that there are some "hit and run" people in here, and he is one of them. I see this behavior so many times in FTP and maybe in other poker rooms, but I understand that because it's real money and traffic is high in those poker rooms. But, still see people doing it in SBR poker which has horrendous traffic, is ridiculous. If these players keep doing this, nobody will play with them. Mostly, we still play in ring games at SBR poker because of 3x rollover, then have to play with these players, would piss you off.

What sucks is that the rollover is a 100% freeroll for the pros that win. So if they finish top 9 in the free tournament, then they can go to the cash game and raise every single pot and try to strike big b/c it's nothing for them to lose the points. Really takes away the actual 'poker-playing' out of the game; might as well play roulette

my personal opinion, having points allowed to be rolled over in the sportsbook is against what SBR is trying to do.

They are trying to generate more action in their poker room.

Also respond to various comments about the hit and runners in SBR poker. From my experience there is not much difference (as far as percentages of players go) from what I see in Pokerstars and what was in fulltilt. There are a number of people who do hit n' run for various reasons. Some like to stop playing poker as quick as possible and just bet it and some think it is a +EV strategy. I disagree with both but that is just me, it goes against my opinions on what makes Poker a fun a respectable game.

For the most part though the group of people who are in the poker room, they are not hit and runners, they are there as much as life permits and they are the ones that are keeping the games going.

If rollover is taken away, I imagine the poker room traffic will decrease and I for one hope that does not happen.

i support this approach. maybe 100 though.

win 600 points give us 6 different 100 point rollover to complete. at least then we can get some points.

poker tourneys and poker ring games are a different game completely. im good at tourneys but do not like ring games. it just makes no sense.

please tweak sbr, the year just started, theres gotta be something you can tweak to keep the same amount of traffic.

yeah this is very true. if you finish your rollover and want to leave- you should at the very least ask if its ok with the person from whom you took the points or if he wants to try to win his points back for a while.

if its not just from a lucky hit and youre just kicking the guy's ass then he will give you his blessing to leave most the time anyway.

I like that approach too. Never been a fan of the rollover or how it's set up, particularly when you have several cashes to rollover. Wouldn't mind seeing Sit and Go's offered all the time and being able to buy in with rollover points.

Hit and runs are going to happen everywhere you play internet poker... it isnt a problem SBR can fix.

People "freerolling" on the cash tables with rollover points keeps the games soft, dont know why anyone is complaining about that.

Rollover in increments of 50/100 sounds like a good idea.

Good idea to leave before you get robbed.

If you are lucky enough to avoid getting robbed in the first place.

What's the point of losing your whole earned stack with KK to A9o pre flop or flopping the nuts over and over again and losing.

You missed the point entirely, which is pretty remarkable. Did you read the suggestions/comments from other users like Beerdog, Gummo, downsouth, and others? Isn't it obvious from my post that it is those solutions being discussed that I am hoping for? What the fuk did I say to make you think I was "complaining" about the games being softer from rollover? And how daft do you have to be to make a comment like "Hit and runs are going to happen everywhere, it can't be fixed"? If the solutions people are talking about in this thread are implemented (which is obviously the point of the thread being created), it WOULD dramatically reduce hit'n'runs and that's entirely evident. Let's see if I can predict your not-so-brilliant response to that: "Yeah, but they'll still happen sometimes so your [sic] dumb for being pissed"

How about a way to automatically start the next rollover (queue them automatically or manually) so that we don't have to get up from the seat and then sit back down with the next rollover. Just a thought.

Another thought, SBR can have rollover point entry fee SNGs or tournaments like once weekly or bi-weekly etc. for non-rollover point prizes. This is a long shot, since I realize the point is to generate more traffic on the tables, but if SBR can figure out a way to make this take a bunch of rollover points out of circulation while awarding less regular points... it might make sense.

Calm down buddy. My comment about complaining was in response to the comment by Jimmy Profett.
