Last night I was playing some limit poker at a local casino and I had a funny hand happen. I left the table for a few minutes. I missed the blinds, I had to post the blinds to get back in the action. So I posted the blinds. I was in late position.

I was dealt a 8 and 5 of clubs. No one raised and there were seven players who called. The flop was 888. Cha ching!!! No one bet before me and I checked. The turn was a J. A guy in early position bet. Everyone folds to me and I call.

After I call the turn, the guys turns up both of his cards. The other players tell him the hand is not over yet. He shows a J and 9. He flips his cards back over to hide them.

The turn is a 9. He bets, I raise and he instantly raises me again.
I couldn't believe he raised me. Once I raised him back, knowing I saw his cards, how does he not know if I am raising him with a better hand?

How does he not know that I have pocket QQ, KK, AA or the 8? Well, needless to say, I raise him back. He finally stops raising and calls. I tell him I have quads and he looks at me bewildered and says, "ahh...slow played me".

The best part about beating him was the fact he was all in after the flop in another hand with a 2 6 offsuit. I had raised pre-flop with AA. Three sixes hit the board and he won the main pot.

These are the moments when live poker becomes so entertaining.
