    Not Bad Beats But..
always hearing about bb's but ... I want to hear success stories!

    who has them?

I want to hear about folks who have won big money on real money sites and cashed out big and had the money in hand.

also... people always complaining about poker being rigged, so as an aspiring mathematician I hope to find these leaks one day

I dodged a flush draw on SBR one time. Only time in 150 attempts that it happened.

Playing a 1-2 spread limit game at Bay 101 a few years back. 9 handed and I had just sat down about 5 hands in with 200-240 in front of me.

UTG +1 open raises to 6
            1 call
            I make it 20 in mid/late position with 68cc
            Guy behind me flat calls
Intense lady on the button raises to 60 and it's folded around to me

I call the 40 more knowing that A) she has a monster hand and B) I have a read that the guy to my left is loosey goosey and will call if I do.

            Flop is 4d5d7c

I lead out for the 130ish or whatever I have in front of me. Guy to my left mulls it over and calls. Intense (and now angry) lady on the button calls. Guy to my left flips AhJd (huh?). Angry button lady flips 2 Kings. My hand holds up and I take the pot.

So this isn't really a success story or a fun win story. The great part is the angry button lady immediately motions to the floor after the pot and requests a table change. Gives me a glare and moves on.

            Cheers, beeootchhh.

                @tatddy

I have one. was in a 48k GTD at Full Tilt some 5yrs back. Quite deep I got in a 4 way All In hand. Mine held up and will always re the sound of dragging a huge pot so deep. The virtual chips was like "Wooooooshs wooosh wooosh wooosh wooosh" The rush was awesome.

After the hand I was in 1/60 1st place was $8,024.00 and I will always regret not playing tighter or simply sitting out for a few.

a couple hands later i had A8 and pushed with like 1 left to act. he calls my all in and turns over A7 I smile and quickly frown when a 7 hits and my stack ends up getting cut in 1/2

long story short I finished in 18th place and won $153.00 big difference tween 150 and 8k

another time I was at live game and had q5 in big blind. it checked around and I checked to see a free flop. flop comes 855 i raise ..some folds and 2 callers turn blanked ..I checked and they did as well. river Q I pushed..... one guy cussed and folded and the last to act called. I lost ... he turned over 88

ps..wait this is my success thread not bb thread lol

Won 3 100+ player live tournaments back to back to back over the span of 2 days then placed 2nd in the 4th.

During One of those a guy folded a set of kings against my AK on something like a K 9 5 board with two spades because "he just knew the flush was coming".

You've told that one before and it still cracks me up.

Did he show the set of kings before folding. I would have cracked up at the table.

I bet into him and he thought about it for a while and said I fold. I asked him what he had and he said pocket kings...nobody believed him so he flipped them over. Everyone at the table was like what in the hell, that's when he said "I just know the flush is coming.".

He had a buddy on the table that have him a hard time but most of the table just laughed in amazement. What's even funnier is we begged the dealer to deal out the turn and the river. The river card would have made the flush he knew was coming, but he still would have won the hand.

My favorite online good beat story was when I was trying to abuse the bubble in a mtt. Guy in the BB had like 5 BBs left, so I minraise the button with the old q4 offsuit. he timebanks all the way down and calls. HU on the flop of 996 he checks, I go all in, he uses all the time possible, including the extra time, and calls with 96. Turn q river q, thank you very much for wasting 2 minutes of my life.

Was playing on Full Tilt at a .25-.50 cash game maybe 5-6 years ago, I was up $150 and about to call it a day. My plan was to stay until the big blind came back to me and I was going to quit. Well I wasn't paying attention and didn't switch auto-blind off, and I posted and got pocket 6's. UTG raises to 1.50. Everybody else folds. I almost folded, thinking I don't want to get involved, I'm up a nice chunk, don't want to risk it. Well I call.

                            Flop: K 6 6

                            Oh boy

                            I check, he checks

                            Turn: 10

                            I check, he checks

                            River: 4

I check a third time thinking the only way more money's going in is if he bluffs. He bets 2.75. I make it 11.80. He pops it again to 26 (????)... so i shove and he calls. Poor bastard had KK

@Diane Incredible record Diane. 3 1st places and a second place finish in 4 str8 tourneys of 100+ deep. Man that is saying something!!!

@Conan Your first post is hilarious. The poor bastard got his aces cracked (what twice?) .. so that he was scared to call an all in again with the AA man .. crazy!

Probably have told this one too at one point or another but whatever...

Several years ago my cousin and I played in underground games one summer in Atlanta. From time to time, we would come across this Russian guy named Dennis. Dennis was a very nice guy, but drank a lot and was probably the worst poker player I've ever seen. One of his gems was bluffing all-in with ace high on the river in a three way pot with one guy pot committed and another guy already all-in. Time and again we saw Dennis buy in, reload, dump his chips then leave. The ace-high bluff night he was extremely drunk and without a ride. We quit playing to call him a cab to get him home. Didn't see much of Dennis until we ran into him a few weeks later in a sports bar. Eventually there was some commotion going on so we go up to a table where there's an arm wrestling match going on. Apparently Dennis had gotten into a talk with some guys there and challenged them to an arm wrestling contest. Really big guys were throwing hundreds of dollars on the table to challenging Dennis to an arm wrestling match. He recognized us and came over and talked to us for a little while between a match. Turns out that despite his modest build, Dennis was a three time Lithuanian arm wrestling champion. Guy after guy challenged him and Dennis took them all down. Probably ended up with 2-3k that night which I'm sure a lot was spent on Vodka.
