Suggestion for registration for SBR poker tournaments

Why not just open up the registration each day 1 hour before the tournament starts? I mean we are getting alot of people who dont even show up each day.

If you at your computer 1 hour before it starts, then certainly you will there when it starts. Maybe 2 hours is better, but this would ensure a better game. We dont necc need to have a full 90 players, what we need are 80 active players

I guess that of course I dont mind people not showing up, but at least this way NO ONE will get shut out that was on the site and ready to play

    Good idea.
The number of no shows is ridiculous.

At my table today...we played 3-handed for a decent amount of time. I went out fairly quickly, so I'm not sure how many people showed up later on but it's not right.

10 person tables, 3 people playing...

Blinds ensure they don't finish high, but they wouldn't win anyway. You can't win without playing the hands, blinds or no blinds.

But they take away a seat from someone who does actually want to play.

I gave up on it, I got in the first week and played every day.

But then they did just random registration times, and every time I went to register they were always full. I like the idea of 1hour before the table opens.

They can do one test run by starting registration 1 hr before tourney starts and see if it gets full. If not then do another one with 2hrs before tourney starts. It's really not rocket science.

The tournies really dont have to be full anyway. It doesnt matter unless alot of NONPROS are paying points to play. Lou on average how many NONPROS play each night?

I think this is a good idea...I think even a couple or a few hours wouldn't hurt.

I'll quote what I said in another thread as well:

Maybe there could be something to confirm the registration just before the tourney? If you don't confirm, you're booted and people on the "waiting list" could be let in.
So if they have registration the day before, ok, but have something soon before the tournament to make sure people are actually there.

I didn't get the chance to register yesterday (checked before 9 AM Tuesday, wasn't up, got back after 9 PM, both were closed).

I've been trying all day to register for the 1 PM (until 1 of course) and then for the 9 PM.

There was one opening once, but I tried to get in and it told me it was full. Someone else beat me by seconds, I guess.

First weekday I'm missing out on the sbr freeroll.

Why not just have it unlimited entries?

I know why there is a limit for entries but I won't reveal it here for obvious reasons.

But the tourney registration needs to be sooner to start time. Right now there are dozens of players who can't play and dozens of no shows. Until a penalty is enforced to no shows this will not discourage people from hogging seats and not showing up.

I think 2 hours would be plenty. It is pointless having spots taken up by people that arent playing when there are only 2 tournaments per day now.

I was thinking the same thing.

Do a 20 point entry fee that is returned if you play.

That is a good idea, non pro's pay a 20 pt fee anyways so why not make it refundable for pro's who show up to play.

Killer the one on Saturday with 250 entries which is unlimited takes 3 hrs to complete. I think 3 hrs for a weekday is too much. Maybe add another 90 players tourney and cut the prize money to pay for it.

most sites let u register 2 hrs before time ,so this way everyone has a chance to register.if u do an hour it seems like a short time to register
