    The POTM isn't, but the POTM list is. The ranking of the POTM list up to about the top five or so is the exact same as the ranking of people with the most posts last month. The top finishers are chosen more subjectively.

    It's all just forum stats. That's why 150 people on the list making a combined thousands of posts every single day for a month are able to be ranked so accurately. Post numbers are easy and objective. It also explains why there are ties on the list all the way down at spots like #88.
