I agree with you that Religion is the greatest scam and brainwashing device in the history of man. But I'm not so hopeful about the 3 major religions being extinct soon. Let me play "devils" advocate and ask you what makes you think the abrahamic religions will be extinct soon? If you're assuming that reason and logic will eventually rule over superstition and nonsense... I think the wait could be hundreds of years in some places even in the US. I live in the deep south. Reason and Logic means nothing to many of these people.

The smartest guy on the planet does not believe in the afterlife. Shouldn't that strike fear into the hearts of those afraid to not exist? No comment on my opinion, I'm just telling you that A LOT of people believe in God and religion because they are afraid of this being it.
