Another year and again the Gods have seen fit to bring these two teams together.

Lyon have beaten Real Madrid 3 times out of 3 at home in the last 5 years and have not lost to Real in any of their 6 meetings. On that basis it is difficult not to be tempted by the odds of around +350 for a home win.

Mourinho in charge of Madrid now, of course, which suggests that Real will be a much tougher nut to crack and that was certainly evident in the group stage. Lyon have some injury problems and Lopez (striker) will be a big miss.

I am finding it hard to look beyond the obvious (square?) play here and going with under 2.5 goals at -120 (1 unit at Stan James). Madrid are the better team and are going to look to play a tight game, slow the tempo down and utilise the talents of their game changing players up front.
