What has made Billy Walters so successful?

is he that successful? is it just a myth? in this day and age with so much info available with a few clicks on the internet, where is his edge? Is it computers?

who else commands as much respect as him in Vegas?

Whether you think he is talented, a myth, or something in between-----I find this to be hysterically funny.

If someone posts a "Billy Walters Play" and it loses----there are Walters' supporters who will claim that he released that info just to move the line in the opposite direction of the play he really wanted.

Say what you want about him---the guy would give PT Barnum a run for his money in the self-promotion biz.

The guy can't lose as he seemingly has both sides covered.

He has a great team and is an originator. IMO if you are an originator with all of these online books moving on "air", you can kick some serious ass.

He is so big right now he can literally call any player at any small school in the country and offer him a used car to shave some points.

so does he have money? or is he living in a tiny house in deep debt.

    does he move lines?

I can believe the moving lines myth, if he has THAT much money and runners

I have not idea. I'm 3,000 miles away from where it all takes place

The way he is moving lines is tricky. Lets say he wants to get -3.5 in a game but the line is +4.5. He keeps placing small bets on the dog at +4.5 and when the book moves the line to -3.5 he unloads on it with a huge bet.

that is a it different from saying he can call the 11th guy on the bench at the Arkansas Pine Bluff, and offering a bribe to fix a game.
its not worth it first of all, with all the limits on games like that. He wouldn't risk it.

its just a dumb statement. I'm looking for responses from people that have more knowledge and common sense than me

Yeah you are going to get intelligent responses in this forum on how a multi-millionaire gambler who built his empire on secrecy makes his bets.

I thought I might get somthing somewhat informed or intelligent

I didn't expect the retarded responses about a guy bribing small time players with used cars.

I hope that poster didn't expect, imbecile like responses would be ignored

Nobody here knows anything more than speculation. You are wasting your time searching for truth here. He is very wealthy and successful, that can be proven but the only thing I know for sure is that he was heavy in real estate there in LB and made a killing off of it.

INFORMATION is the key to handicapping, over 50% of it. If you have contacts & people on the payroll to gather info you can successfully pick winners ATS at a winning%. If not then you're guessing & thats not handicapping.

Brock writes each team on his nuts & smears PB on them, whichever his dog licks clean first is what he releases as a Rubberband play. Thats one method but its not handicapping.

Also, Capping starts weeks even months before games, the info that comes in the 24th hour is just gravy. If you're starting to cap a game today that plays tomorrow or this weekend then you're not handicapping, you're digging & hoping

i dont think his wealth is in question, nothing says "i made it" more than having your own private jet, which he does

i mean having runners, they will eventually know who the runners are unless he constantly rotates them

the question is did he gain his wealth strictly from gambling

80% of his wealth is from Real Estate and Booking

The booking part is where it started and organized crime

    Its not from gambling

    Case closed

did you watch the 60 minutes special on him? you're asking questions that were answered in the show.

He movies lines, even moves them so he can bet the opposite side later at the number he wants.(what pavy said basically but he said it better)
loses on his big gambling plays? these probably win more than lose.
He bets while playing golf if thats what you mean.
He has people who have models and shit that he pays. I think it said how many people he has, but he has a team of people feeding him information.

He got in at the right time (1980's), with the right group of people. What he does now is build on that early success, and would be extremely difficult to copy. He's a manager of information now. And his bets sound big, but when you own seven (?) golf courses they're probably conservative.
