I know this is an old thread but I have just found it.

I googled instances of similar occurrences because it just happened to me yesterday. And I am 'pissed' because of the same old, 'well those are the rules' crap that is spouted out by these people when they reply to perfectly legitimate grievances. And in this case it is most definitely their fault, or at least the fault of their website

My bet will not take place until Sunday so I do not have the same problem as the original author of this thread but despite it being an obvious WHill error they have so far failed to either 1) honour the bet I requested, or 2) void the bet that their system gave me.

I, like the author, have also been 'bitten' before and was actually asked by a Paddy Power CS agent if I had a screenshot to highlight a previous grievance.... in that instance I did not! This time I do and I post it here for all to see. And for all you cynics, this is most definitely NOT a fake

I clearly asked for £50 on Caen to beat Sochaux @ 5.5, which was then sent to a trader, and came back...'thanks very much you have £50 on Creteil away to Strasbourg' !

I contacted them through the website sent them the screenshot and asked them to change it to the correct bet. I received a reply from them this morning telling me that the bet stood as captured and that.......

"...it is not our policy to void or amend bets once they have been captured by our transaction server. As such, we are unable to void your bets on this occasion and your beta will remain as captured."

I could 'go to town' on this comment, as I am sure many of you can also testify to bets being amended after being captured by their transaction server. Everyone who has bet a 'palpable error' perhaps!

They also suggest that I should 'check' the check bets box in future.... as if this was my fault! The condescending nature of these Customer Service(I use the term loosely) agents really makes my blood boil!

As you can see from the screenshot their 'infallible' system has also screwed up in placing all the French Ligue 1 games under the heading of the French National Ligue. At the time I thought nothing of it but on checking earlier today, the Ligue 1 games were back where they should be and the National Ligue odds were nowhere to be seen. The odds for Caen are also now 100/30. Perhaps the other odds are all screwed too, I haven't checked. So maybe I bet a 'palp' but at worst I should be on at the correct odds and not forced to endure a bet on a team I have barely heard of (no offence to all you Creteil fans!)

I am awaiting their reply to my second email and am hoping that they will see sense and void the rogue bet on Creteil... there is still 2 days until kick-off!

I truly believe that unless they 'do the right thing' that I have been defrauded by this company, in the respect that I paid for the advertised bet and was given another, totally unrelated one, in its place.

Ok that is my experience, I will update, if it is of interest to anyone, when I receive WHills next reply.

Yeah pretty sick. They do some super-shady stuff with live bets as well. They will leave your bet pending until they have more information (e.g. wait for a minute or so in basketball games). If the line changes in your favour, they will tell you that the odds have changed, but if the line has gone the other way, they will accept your bet. Super, super shady.

It is far from garbage! I am still waiting for a reply to my 2nd email.

This is for real, it is no joke and is only meant for people in the same position to take note. The bookmakers, especially in the UK have had it all their own way for the past 40 years now and are the first to start weeping when something does not go their way. I know, I worked for them for 20 years and Hills were one of my employers.

I am not a disgruntled ex-employee either, I am a punter just like everyone here. My bets are seriously thought out and I do not appreciate the bookmaker telling me what I should bet. They have been trying to that for years!

The bet they 'gave' me does not play until Saturday so there is plenty of time for them to void the bet and keep their customer happy. I mean if a vegetarian went in to a restaurant and ordered a lentil ragu but was given a steak and told to eat it... "because you are paying for it whether you eat it or not"... then I am guessing they would not be happy, and would have a solid case for getting his/her money back... and most likely compensation from the restaurant owners for the appalling service! No one would accept that kind of service in a restaurant so why should we as punters?

Some bookmakers seem to think they are not accountable and things need to change.

I have tried again to upload a readable copy of the screenshot I took but it is always resized to 30kb. Must be doing something wrong.

I will post again as soon as I have more contact from them. But as of now they seem to be ignoring my last email

I play with WillHill for 15years and never had a issue, and their soccer odds and the amount of bet variation is unbeatable.US books may be better for US Sports,i play some of them like 5dimes and DSI but Wil Hill beat them easily

Just checked my WHill account and have had my stake money returned. No email, no apologies no admission of guilt, nothing. I only noticed because I went in to see if the French National ligue betting was available yet. It was, and it was 'surprisingly, almost identical' to the screenshot I took last night of the French Ligue 1 odds... only the names had changed.

This company were so wrong and have not had the decency to own up. If I had not pursued the matter or taken that screenshot it seems to me they would have just brazened it out and kept the cash. I used to think this was a good book, but it will need to do without my business from now on. Totally unacceptable, and unprofessional behaviour from a company run purely for the benefit of the shareholder.

I apologise for the rant but they have really 'pissed me off', money back or not!
