I'll one up you, try wearing a Cowboy jersey to a Giants home game.

Best of luck tonight, cash some basketball tickets.

What looks good tonight? Bunch of these teams seem to be pretty inconsistent as of late. I'm close to useless in basketball without my trusty Cavs and the Jazz playing.

I'm excited about taking the wife to the movies Sunday afternoon and running my 2011 MLB simulations this weekend. Might catch some of second half of Super Bowl, but probably not.

Ya men in tights are sooo much cooler!! I hope Silva picks a nice song to dance to. Not the entrance music. When he is dancing during the fight.

It's like watching basketball before the shot clock, when all the shitty teams with no talent just held the ball because they didn't have the skills to compete.

If your fighting strategy is a submission hold, you're openly admitting you're too much of a pansy to fight. Get those sissies out of UFC or it will just be a fad. Sooner or later people are going to wake up and realize the Gracies are a bunch of douchebags. If I wanted to see that shit I could go to a gymnastics meet.

So you want two divisions: 1) for fighters with limited skill who stand around flailing at each other until they gas out and drop from exhaustion and 2) for skilled fighters.

Also, I would love to see someone with your mentality fight any of the grappling pansies. You can throw punches, bite, kick, scratch, eye gouge, do anything you desire, and the grappler can only wrestler or submit you and we will see who is going to the hospital.

i don't understand what's so great about this ufc card.. silva vs. belfort is more of freak circus sideshow curiousity, really what did vitor do to earn a shot at the title? ascension by silva destroying on competent challengers ftw..

franklin vs. griffin bears no interest to me, this fight will not decide a thing in the big picture in terms championships and ranked challenges in the mw or lhw

jon jones vs. bader is i guess somewhat interesting, but only if to see if big bad vader (coolest nick ever) can derail the jone's hype train.. (lol remember when jones was +200 dog to gusmao and +160 dog to bonner? of course not) jones vs. mr.wonderful would've actually answer many more questions and emerge a legit lhw contender..

ehh whatever, and to whomever compared superbowl to two untrained monkeys fighting in the street.. yea playing in the nfl don't require highly specialed skills or anything..

I heard that two years ago, how UFC will be the next big thing.
I heard ten years ago that soccer here will take off and be the next big thing.

    Here are the cold facts.
PPV buys were garbage in the UFC early years.
Lidell kept the company afloat, his match with Ortiz was the first to get a million buys.
Then, after that fight, the PPV ratings went into the toilet again, it took over two more years for an event to get a million buys, that was Lesner.

I will say this much, the Lesner / Mir fight did over 1.7 million buys, but, the big UFC pay days are few and far between.

    No, they are adequate.
    UFC 110 tanked.
St. Pierre's fight fell short of what they expected.
    Rampage did OK.

WWE buys outnumber UFC about 2.5:1

UFC PPV buys still go up every year though. Maybe not a significant amount but still. Also the popularity of the sport isn't directly proportional to the PPV buys. How many pubs and casinos show WWE events? I'm not sure about the exact number, but I know it's significantly less than UFC. With the WEC merge and all the new up and coming fighters, numbers only have one way to go, up. Another thing to consider is that WWE buys have dropped a lot since one year ago. The more popular UFC becomes the more fans from WWE and boxing will switch over.

Yes, I know, that was just one event, they expected 1.5.
