    Mountain West to add San Jose State & Utah State

    Setting up a 12-team conference with the following divisions...

    Mountain:
    - Air Force
    - Boise State
    - Colorado State
    - New Mexico
    - Utah State
    - Wyoming

    West:
    - Fresno State
    - Hawai'i (football-only)
    - Nevada
    - San Diego State
    - San Jose State
    - UNLV

    A 12th team will likely be added in the near future for all sports other than football.

    What strikes me as odd is the reason why the teams left the WAC was that it had too many teams.

    Remember, all of these Mountain West teams were once in the WAC.
    They all left the WAC at one time or another to be in the Mountain West.
