Negotiating having a home built. Does anyone on here work in for a big time resdential builder? Im trying to get granite counters thrown in and they will not budge just trying to see how much of a mark up they have and what can I do to get the builder to move off of his price by about 5k.

Update for all of the helpers in this thread......telling them my price and to throw in the counter tops or no sale period worked pretty well. This real estate market is sick if you are buying.

Got some experience as build my creep 4 years ago, unfortunately on a third world country...so I not of much help, sorry. :P
